According to an announcement on its official website on the evening of January 27th, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) stated that access to its fanpage has been temporarily blocked. "According to the developer's announcement, the reason is due to some issues arising during the verification and reconciliation of digital content copyrights through the platform's automatic censorship mechanism," the VFF said.

The Federation shared that the management team proactively coordinated and worked with Meta (Facebook) to review, verify, and complete the necessary procedures to restore the Fanpage's operation as soon as possible. They also submitted documents proving the legality and copyright of the posted content. They requested that Meta reconsider the warning from the automated system, as there may have been an error.

Not long ago, a series of fanpages with millions of followers in Vietnam also simultaneously disappeared. Afterwards, Meta had to issue a statement confirming that this was an error and that they were gradually working to restore the pages for the Vietnamese page owners.

Specifically, in early January, Facebook users in Vietnam were surprised to find that popular social media pages like VTV24, VTV3, and The Anh 28 Entertainment had disappeared and could no longer be found on the platform. The personal pages of celebrities such as streamer Do Mixi and singer Jack also experienced the same situation.

The impact is spreading rapidly, affecting personal accounts and areas beyond news and entertainment. The list of deleted fanpages includes Tuyen Van Hoa, Beatvn, Top Comment, and The Gioi Showbiz, all multi-faceted news accounts on Facebook with millions of followers. Pages aimed at young people, such as Diem Thong Nhat and Leu Bao, were also inaccessible on January 5th. Additionally, the Facebook page of the Saigon Phantoms Liên Quân (Arena of Valor) team disappeared.

By around January 8th, most pages were back online. Some fan pages lost their profile pictures and took extra time to restore.
