A strange string of characters appeared on Facebook.

On the morning of December 9th, many Facebook users in Vietnam and internationally reported an error where strange characters appeared in the post timestamp area. The error only occurred when accessing the web version of Facebook and did not affect the mobile app or all users.

Specifically, instead of displaying the post time, users saw a long string of meaningless characters. Although this issue did not affect the ability to log in or use basic Facebook features, it caused frustration and confusion for many, making them feel like Facebook had been "hacked."

Facebook has yet to issue an official comment on the issue. Some users have tried to fix the problem by clearing their browsing history, cookies, and cache, restarting their browser, or switching to a different browser.

Recently, Facebook has also experienced various bugs. For example, there was a time when some users reported being unable to upload photos and videos to Facebook, and having difficulty logging into their accounts. There were also display errors, such as when some users couldn't scroll down their page and only saw the two previous posts before receiving a notification that there were no other posts.

Facebook also occasionally experiences sharing errors when some users are unable to share posts or post comments.

Errors on Facebook can cause serious damage to both users and businesses. Major incidents can result in significant financial losses for Facebook. In some cases, errors can lead to the loss of personal data or sensitive information. For example, the incident on October 4, 2021, cost Facebook billions of dollars due to a drop in stock price and lost advertising revenue.
