Hai Phong station leaders said that with the desire to promote and develop tourism , after consulting with relevant authorities, Hai Phong station will have its landscape architecture restored.
Specifically, there will be a souvenir shop; the exterior of the station will be repainted to make it more aesthetically pleasing in true French style; the trees in front of the station will be rearranged… At the same time, a coffee shop will be set up in the train station - a place where visitors can enjoy an old-fashioned atmosphere.
Some offices will be reduced to make use of the station's space to serve as souvenir counters, galleries, etc. Hai Phong station will operate both as a tourist destination and maintain passenger pick-up and drop-off activities as before.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong City, along with the above activities, the Department will host the "Hai Phong Food Festival" in 2025 from May 9-14, 2025 at Hai Phong Station. The event will attract over 40 food stalls, Hai Phong delicacies, local specialties in the city and tourist gifts.
In order to develop railway tourism products, Vietnam Railways Corporation plans to put into operation 20 new carriages on the Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line. The carriages are designed in a modern style, have luxurious interiors and are named the "Hoa Phuong Do" train. The expected opening date of this tourism product is before May 13, 2025.

Hai Phong Railway Station is the main railway station of Hai Phong City. It is also the last passenger station on the Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line.
Hai Phong Station was built by the French and put into use in 1902. This is one of the four main stations of the 99 km long railway connecting Hai Phong with Hanoi.

The building is emphasized in the center with two protruding blocks on both sides and decorative details. The iron columns with classical patterns supporting the porch, or the green stone paving from the early days of operation are still intact. The clock case is 120 years old, the old mechanical clock part has been damaged and replaced with an electronic clock.
Coming to Hai Phong Station, we meet again the memories of the subsidy period. After 120 years of existence, Hai Phong Station still retains its ancient beauty with bold French architecture.
Hai Phong people will never forget the event of Uncle Ho taking a special train from Hanoi to Hai Phong and vice versa. During the resistance war against the French, the army and people of the Route 5 front made historical miracles. When peace was restored, Uncle Ho returned from Hanoi to Hai Phong and wrote the article “Heroic Route 5”.
Hai Phong Station is one of the few remaining stations with strong French architectural imprints in Vietnam, along with stations in Hue (Thua Thien Hue), Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa), and Da Lat (Lam Dong).
Nowadays, along with the work of transporting passengers and goods, Hai Phong station is one of the famous check-in locations in the red phoenix flower city.
