The latest leaks from the supply chain suggest that Samsung is preparing for a major overhaul of its top-of-the-line smartphone lineup. Specifically, ETNews reports that the Galaxy S27 generation, expected to launch next year, will include a "Pro" version.

For many years, Samsung users have often had to choose between the Plus version with a large screen but moderate specifications, or the Ultra version with full technology but an oversized form factor and a high price. The launch of the Pro version is expected to offer a device with a reasonable size but specifications close to the Ultra line.

The price and detailed specifications of the Galaxy S27 Pro are still unknown. However, the device will likely have a smaller screen than the Ultra version but retain the same high-end camera system, similar to how Apple positions its iPhone Pro line to compete directly.

The addition of the S27 Pro version will also bring the total number of high-end devices in the Galaxy lineup to four, mirroring the product range strategy that Apple is applying to its latest generations of smartphones.

The biggest highlight of the Galaxy S27 Pro is its Privacy Display feature – previously exclusive to the current S26 Ultra series. Instead of relying on physical screen protectors that degrade display quality, Samsung has integrated a light-blocking layer directly into the panel structure.

This solution allows users to proactively activate the anti-peeping mode through software. As a result, the displayed content will darken or blur from oblique viewing angles, maximizing user privacy protection in public places.

"The addition of the Pro version is not just another option, but Samsung's way of redefining the flagship segment to ensure no target customer group is missed," ETNews commented.

However, some tech experts have also expressed caution. Over-splitting the product line could confuse users and dilute the value of the Ultra line, which is currently an icon for the company.

However, with competitors from China like Xiaomi, OnePlus, and Oppo all offering "Pro" lines with powerful hardware and compact designs, Samsung is forced to make corresponding adjustments to maintain its market share.
