- Changes in ethnic minority areas
- Enhancing the capacity to apply information technology in ethnic minority communities.
- Reorganize and streamline the literary and artistic organizations of ethnic minorities.
This is a concrete effort by Ca Mau province in implementing the National Target Program for socio -economic development in ethnic minority areas . The project not only aims to address the deterioration of the historical site but also expresses gratitude for the contributions of this Khmer Theravada Buddhist temple, rich in revolutionary traditions.
A stele summarizing the history of Cao Dan Pagoda is placed right at the entrance to the pagoda.
According to the decision of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the items to be renovated include: the lecture hall, the refectory, the kitchen area, and the technical infrastructure system - structures that are seriously deteriorating over time. In particular, the project focuses on renovating the corridor and the steps of the pagoda dedicated to the late Venerable Thich Huu Nhem, former Vice Chairman of the National Liberation Front of the Southwestern Region.
Renovating religious facilities in the area next to the stupa dedicated to Venerable Hữu Nhem, the former abbot of the temple, who passed away during the resistance war against the US.
Cao Dan Pagoda is not only a unique architectural and artistic masterpiece, recognized as a national historical and cultural relic in 2017, but also a "base of the people's hearts," a place that sheltered and protected many revolutionary cadres during the two wars of resistance against French colonialism and American imperialism.
Cao Dan Pagoda was built 103 years ago. Throughout its formation and development, the pagoda has fulfilled its religious duties while also carrying out its historical mission to its homeland and country.
The investment in restoring Cao Dan Pagoda once again affirms the consistent viewpoint of Ca Mau province: economic development is closely linked to the preservation and promotion of national cultural identity. Khmer pagodas are not only places of spiritual activity but also symbols of national unity, and spaces for educating the younger generation in the Ca Mau region about patriotic traditions. The timely attention of the province will help Cao Dan Pagoda continue to spread its cultural and historical values, becoming a solid spiritual anchor for the Khmer people and the people in the region.
Due to the prolonged flooding and deterioration of the temple grounds and internal roads, in 2024, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism as the investor for the upgrading of the grounds and roads with a budget of nearly 700 million VND. This demonstrates the close attention and concern of the provincial leadership for the cultural and religious life of the local people.
