The "Family Bonding in the 4.0 Era" event featured various activities such as: expert presentations on "Cultivating Modern Family Values in the 4.0 Era"; short theatrical performances, small stories containing big messages; interactions with exemplary families; honoring 15 exemplary families in implementing the "Building a Family with 5 No's and 3 Cleanliness Standards" campaign and 10 exemplary mother-child pairs in the "Godmother" program; awarding prizes for the "Moments of Loving and Reunited Family" photo contest; and awarding scholarships to orphaned children who overcome difficulties and excel in their studies.
CULTIVATING MODERN FAMILY VALUES IN THE 4.0 ERA
In the context of a market economy , international integration, and the development of science and technology, the value system of Vietnamese families has been undergoing changes.
Among these challenges are the erosion of some traditional family values. Finding common ground is becoming increasingly difficult, direct communication among family members is declining, and marital relationships in some young families are becoming more fragile…

Faced with the aforementioned challenges and difficulties, the Women's Union at all levels in the province has organized many propaganda activities, focusing on grassroots levels; building, expanding, and strengthening models and clubs such as: "Building Happy Families," "Raising Healthy Children, Teaching Good Children," "Preventing and Combating Domestic Violence," "Pre-marital Education "; and helping women develop economically...
This contributes to improving the material and spiritual lives of a large number of female cadres, members, and women, helping them to feel happy, confident, and strive for success in life, gradually raising the status of women in the family and in society.
In particular, the "Family Bonding in the 4.0 Era" event is organized to improve the effectiveness of family building, cultivate the good values and traditions of Vietnamese families, gradually reduce domestic violence, contribute to building individuals with good character and lifestyles, achieve comprehensive development, and build prosperous, progressive, happy, and civilized families.
At the same time, it aims to create a shift in awareness and actions, and to promote the role and responsibility of each individual, all levels of the Women's Union, and the entire society regarding the position, role, and value of the Vietnamese family in the 4.0 era.
Sharing the thematic topic "Cultivating Modern Family Values in the 4.0 Era" is one of the practical activities aimed at continuing to maintain and promote appropriate family values in the new era.
Accordingly, Dr. Nguyen Hiep Tri, Deputy Head of the Department of Child Protection and Social Welfare, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health , shared a presentation on preserving and fostering the traditional values of Vietnamese families in the context of international integration (reflecting family relationships, between grandparents, parents and children, between siblings, between husband and wife; the norms and cultural values of a prosperous, progressive, happy, and civilized family).
Experts interacted directly with delegates, offering solutions to preserve and cultivate the positive values of Vietnamese families – “Safety, responsibility, prosperity, and equality” – in the era of Industry 4.0.
According to Dr. Nguyen Hiep Tri, on average, Vietnam sees hundreds of thousands of divorces each year. More than 40% of the causes of marital conflicts stem from trivial matters. Happiness is eroded by seemingly insignificant issues that occur daily.
To resolve conflicts, Dr. Nguyen Hiep Tri suggests that couples need to know how to organize, delegate tasks, and praise each other when they do something well. When conflicts arise, they should put themselves in the other person's shoes and share their feelings to better understand each other.
Sharing and caring for one another among family members is the key to happiness. This could include sharing financial burdens, taking care of the home, and raising and educating children.
Furthermore, instead of focusing their attention on work, "virtual friends," etc., parents/grandparents need to shift their attention to the children, talking to them, participating in shared family activities such as visiting elders, having dinner, playing games, traveling, etc.
Family members need to have clear hierarchical relationships, children should respect and be filial to their grandparents and parents, husbands and wives should love and be faithful to each other, and siblings should support each other.
It can be seen that a happy family is understood as the satisfaction of family members with the sum total of objective and subjective factors regarding material life, health, spiritual life, relationships within the family, and the family's relationship with relatives and the community.
Building a happy family requires more than just focusing on material factors; cultural and spiritual elements are also crucial, especially the quality of relationships between family members.
TO MAKE THE FAMILY ALWAYS A HAPPY HOME
As one of the exemplary happy families, Ms. Cao Thi Phuong Dong (Ward 10, My Tho City) shared: “My family has 5 members: my mother, my husband and I, and our two children.
Both my wife and I work at the ward office, so we're very busy with our jobs. Our children are at a growing age, and conflicts are inevitable at times, but I always try to organize my work efficiently, ensuring that I balance both household and professional responsibilities.
My husband is my life partner in building our home, because he believes that women are born deserving of love, so he doesn't hesitate to do most of the housework for me, from grocery shopping, cooking, taking care of the children, washing dishes, cleaning the house...
Every day, my husband and I try to prepare a hearty and complete family meal. After a long day of school and work, dinner is a time for the whole family to gather and share stories, so I always create a joyful and cozy space for the children to strengthen family bonds.”
According to Ms. Dong, for women to fulfill their responsibilities as wives and mothers, they need the support and sharing of family members, especially their husbands.
The care and support of others will help women reduce stress and feel encouraged, understood, and find joy in their own homes. This is how Ms. Dong and her family members are building a happier life.
Listening, understanding, and sharing with family members, and always accompanying his wife in all the activities of the Women's Union that she enjoys – this is how Mr. Nguyen Van Thach (Tan Hoa Dong commune, Tan Phuoc district) has provided for his family and his wife, Ms. Le Thi Bich Phuong, for the past 10 years, ensuring their life is filled with laughter and happiness. For Mr. Thach, despite being busy with business, time spent with family remains his top priority.
Speaking about her husband, Ms. Phuong happily shared that her husband, Mr. Thach, helped her realize that, as a woman, marrying a husband who is willing to dedicate everything to his wife and children is true happiness. Therefore, every day, in the family kitchen, her husband always cooks twice a day, morning and evening, for his wife and children. This small act brings her immense happiness.
According to Nguyen Thi Kim Phuong, Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union: In recent times, the Provincial Women's Union has implemented many practical and meaningful activities to raise awareness and life skills for women, men, and family members.
The Association has actively propagated and mobilized its members to effectively implement the Party and State's guidelines and policies on family affairs; promoting its core role in preserving and nurturing cultural family values, building "Families with 5 no's and 3 clean's," "Happy Families," and "Exemplary Families"...
In addition, the provincial Women's Union branches regularly coordinate and organize training courses, thematic activities, forums, and seminars on parenting skills, prevention and control of domestic violence, reproductive health care, and education on ethics and lifestyle within the family.
Models such as "Trusted addresses in the community," "Women's groups without relatives involved in law violations and social vices," and "Clubs for building happy families" have been and are proving effective, contributing to strengthening affection, cohesion, and responsibility within each family.
With the close attention and guidance of Party committees and authorities at all levels, the coordination of various sectors and organizations, and especially the efforts of women of all walks of life in the province, family work in general and the implementation of models and activities aimed at building happy and sustainable families have achieved many positive results.
Comrade Nguyen Thi Kim Phuong believes that, through activities in response to Vietnamese Family Day, each of us will further appreciate the value of family; at the same time, raise awareness of preserving and promoting the beautiful traditional cultural features in each household, contributing to building a progressive, humane and sustainable society.
