In a small alley in Dong Ha ward, meetings between police officers and the family of Nguyen Thi Na (born in 2007) have become familiar over the past decade. Though not related by blood, the police officers are the people she always looks forward to seeing. Na has cerebral palsy since childhood, is an orphan, and her mother suffers from kidney failure; her already difficult life has become even more challenging. Yet, for over 10 years, she has never lacked care and support.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hia, Na's mother, emotionally shared: "The support from the officers and soldiers of the Economic Police Department of the Provincial Police not only provided daily necessities but also helped our family improve our living conditions, such as building a house and buying beds, mosquito nets, and mats... These acts of kindness have become an important support system helping my daughter and I overcome adversity."

Since 2013, the Youth Union and Women's Association of the Economic Police Department have been sponsoring Na. Every month, she receives financial support, medicine, and essential necessities. Although the material value is not large, it is a great source of encouragement, giving strength to her family.
Captain Pham Thanh Tam of the Economic Police Department said: "After 13 years of working together, Na has become like 'family' to the unit. On every holiday, the officers and soldiers visit her, give her gifts, and consider it a responsibility and an expression of affection for a member of their family."
Beyond material support, the relationship between the officers and soldiers and Na is built on genuine affection and love. Although she cannot speak, through her eyes and smile, she always expresses her joy whenever she meets "the aunts." These simple, close interactions have become a great source of encouragement for both sides.
Not stopping at Na's case, the "Sponsored Child" program is being maintained and expanded by the Economic Police Department of the Provincial Police to many other disadvantaged cases. Currently, the unit is sponsoring two more students, providing monthly support for their studies and living expenses until they reach the age of 18.
According to Captain Dao Quoc Hai, the implementation of the "Sponsored Child" program not only contributes to caring for children in special circumstances but also helps build the image of a courageous, humane, and people-serving police officer.
Thanks to the coordinated efforts of various organizations within the unit, the program has spread widely and deeply, becoming a highlight in the social welfare work of the police force. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hoai Nam, Head of the Economic Police Department, emphasized: Besides professional duties, the unit always focuses on social welfare activities, fostering love and connection within the community. Although the contributions may be small, the social impact is very practical and meaningful.
These quiet acts of kindness are becoming a solid foundation for many underprivileged children. From these simple actions, the journey of sowing seeds of love continues to spread, giving these children more faith and strength to move forward on their path.
