Bernard Werber is one of the most widely read contemporary French writers in the world . After studying law and criminology in Toulouse, Bernard Werber enrolled in journalism school in Paris. His first major feature story was written abroad, focusing on safari ants in Ivory Coast. Upon returning, he began working for various newspapers such as L'Événement, Le Point, VSD , etc., until he took over the science section of Le Nouvel Observateur , where he worked for seven years.
His investigation into safari ants inspired him to write his first novel in 1991, * Ants *. The work quickly became a resounding success in France and around the world. To date, Bernard Werber has published approximately 30 books, including novels and short stories.
Bernard Werber's books have been translated into 30 languages and sold over 23 million copies worldwide. His most recent work, published in October 2023, is titled Le Temps des Chimères ( The Time of Illusions ).
