Attending the event were Y Ngoc, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, departments, boards, and agencies; former leaders of press agencies from various periods; and nearly 350 journalists, reporters, editors, and technicians from central and local press agencies.

Speaking at the meeting, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Duc Tuy once again affirmed the role and position of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism in various historical periods; emphasizing that generations of journalists have always continuously cultivated revolutionary ethics, honed their professional skills, and are ready to venture into dangerous places to promptly inform and vividly reflect all aspects of life, maintaining their role as the loyal voice of the Party and State, a reliable forum for the people, and a vanguard force on the ideological and cultural front. On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Duc Tuy, warmly commended, acknowledged, and highly appreciated the efforts and results achieved by the press agencies and journalists of Kon Tum province in the past period: “ Continuing the glorious tradition of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism, in recent years, despite operating under difficult conditions, the journalists of Kon Tum province have consistently stayed close to the grassroots, promptly discovering, reflecting, and commending exemplary individuals and good deeds, actively fighting against negative behaviors and violations of the law; creating a ripple effect and attracting people to respond and actively participate in policies and movements such as “The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses,” and the campaign “Changing the mindset and working methods of ethnic minorities, helping ethnic minorities rise out of poverty sustainably.” Since then, it has contributed, together with the Party Committee, the government, and the people of all ethnic groups in the province, to successfully carrying out the tasks of socio-economic development, maintaining national defense and security, and building the Party and the political system in the province."

As the country enters a new era, primarily focusing on streamlining the political system's organizational structure, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Nguyen Duc Tuy, expressed his hope that the press would continue to accompany and effectively carry out all assigned tasks: “ I hope and believe that in the coming time, the press agencies and journalists of the province will continue to maintain ‘sharp eyes, pure hearts, and incisive pens,’ contributing to spreading the voice of the Party committees and government to every village, every household, and every citizen in the area; continuing to propagate and help cadres, Party members, and the people understand the significance of the merger of Kon Tum and Quang Ngai provinces, and together with the whole country, enter a new era – the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise.”

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee of the 13th Kon Tum Provincial Press Award in 2025 presented awards to the winning authors and groups of authors. After a year of launching the competition, the Organizing Committee received nearly 70 journalistic works from 33 authors and 11 groups of authors from central and local press agencies. The final judging panel selected 28 outstanding works from 20 authors and 8 groups of authors to award prizes; including 5 A prizes, 5 B prizes, 10 C prizes, and 8 Consolation prizes. These journalistic works closely reflect the pulse of life, promptly and comprehensively reflecting all aspects and fields of life, from politics, economics, culture, and society to issues of public concern such as environmental pollution; the management and protection of the Kon Tum Ngoc Linh Ginseng brand; The efforts of the provincial border guard forces in helping ethnic minority communities in border areas change their mindset and practices; the exemplary teachers who overcome difficulties to help students in remote areas attend school…

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam's revolutionary press, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Kon Tum province awarded Certificates of Merit to 15 collectives and individuals for their outstanding achievements in journalistic activities, contributing to socio-economic development and maintaining political security and stability in the province; and honored 4 individuals and 1 group of authors who won the A Prize at the 13th Kon Tum Provincial Journalism Awards. On this occasion, the Kon Tum Provincial Journalists Association presented the "For the Cause of Vietnamese Journalism" commemorative medal from the Vietnam Journalists Association to 13 outstanding individuals.
