From June 1st, the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) officially launched the "Around Me" application. This is a digital platform developed to help people find gas stations, look up market information, submit feedback, and manage their personal fuel expenses.
Through the integrated digital map in the application, users can easily identify the nearest gas stations, look up addresses, get directions, monitor the operating status of the stations, and update information on fuel types and prices. These features are expected to effectively support people on long journeys or during times of market fluctuations in supply.
Besides its information lookup function, "Around Me" also allows citizens to directly submit complaints to management agencies about violations in the petroleum business, such as selling at prices different from the listed price, unusual closures, sales restrictions, failure to issue invoices, or issues related to fuel quality, fire safety, and the environment. These complaints are received and processed immediately by the Department, contributing to increased public participation in monitoring petroleum business activities.
The application also integrates a feature for evaluating the service quality of gas stations, contributing to promoting transparency and improving service quality in the market.

Another notable feature is its ability to support vehicle management and track personal fuel costs. Users can store vehicle information, record fuel history, monitor consumption levels, and summarize operating costs for each vehicle. This helps users be more proactive in controlling fuel costs and evaluating vehicle efficiency.
For fuel businesses, the application opens up a new channel for interaction with customers by updating store information and introducing accompanying services such as electric vehicle charging stations, convenience stores, car wash services, restrooms, or food and beverage outlets. The continuous updating of data is expected to help people have more information to choose suitable fuel purchasing locations.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, data collected from the application will also support regulatory agencies in analyzing, monitoring, and early detection of market anomalies. This is considered a tool to improve operational efficiency and ensure the supply of petroleum products to serve production, business activities, and consumer needs.
In the future, "Around Me" is expected to continue to be enhanced with many new features such as alerts for unusual sales prices and inventory, market supply and demand forecasts, fuel waste alerts, and advanced data analysis tools for management purposes.
