Domestic coffee prices are forecast to rebound tomorrow, December 11, 2024, after falling earlier this week.

Furthermore, experts also believe that the global coffee market trend remains one of low supply compared to ever-increasing consumer demand. Moreover, the harvest in many areas is not yet at its peak, only reaching about 30%, and farmers are not under economic pressure, so the recent price drop did not lead to a panic selling. Therefore, when the world market recovered, domestic prices rose sharply again.

According to Reuters, despite being in the peak harvest season, domestic coffee prices in Vietnam are still rising due to high demand and limited supply. In the two months since the new harvest began, farmers in the Central Highlands have only harvested about 20% of the coffee crop.

According to the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association, Vietnam exports coffee to more than 80 countries; of which 10 markets have export turnover exceeding 100 million USD. The European Union (EU) continues to be Vietnam's largest coffee export market in the 2023-2024 crop year, with a value of 2 billion USD, an increase of 41% compared to the previous crop year, accounting for 38% of the volume and 37% of the value of Vietnam's coffee exports.

Regarding coffee prices, according to the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association, in the early days of December 2024, coffee prices increased on both global exchanges.

Analyzing current global and domestic coffee prices, experts believe that the sharp increase in coffee prices is due to increasingly limited supply and rising demand. Several major coffee exporting countries, such as Vietnam and Brazil, have been affected by drought.
