Mr. Dam Quang Bai, originally from Quang Ninh, and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tri, originally from Nghe An, married in 1971 and had two children, a daughter and a son. Both were teachers, later transferred to Can Tho to work at the former Can Tho College of Education. Mrs. Tri taught Philosophy, while Mr. Tri worked in the Training Department. In 2005, they retired and actively participated in local social activities. Mrs. Tri was the Head of the Women's Association in Area 2, Hung Loi Ward (formerly); Mr. Tri was the Head of the Self-Management Group and the Head of Party Group No. 3, Area 2, Hung Loi Ward (formerly), now Tan An Ward. In recent years, due to declining health, they resigned from these positions but remain actively involved in Party activities.
Throughout their lives, they have received numerous commendations from various sectors and levels, most notably the 55-year Party membership badge for the husband and the 45-year Party membership badge for the wife. But perhaps what makes them most proud and happy is that they have lived a life of complete devotion to each other, building a happy family and raising successful children and grandchildren. Both of their children followed in their parents' footsteps in the teaching profession; one is a secondary school math teacher, and the other is a lecturer at Can Tho Vocational College. Their daughter-in-law is also a secondary school literature teacher, and their son-in-law works in the military. Their children, daughters-in-law, and sons-in-law are all Party members. Their two grandchildren have graduated from university and are working, while their two great-grandchildren are still studying at university and secondary school. They also have their first great-grandchild.

To achieve such a "sweet reward," the couple has built their home together over the past 55 years. Mrs. Tri recalls that when her husband was transferred to work in the South, she stayed home alone with their two children, teaching and taking care of the house for three years. In 1978, he brought her and their children to live in Can Tho. Besides teaching, the couple also farmed and raised livestock to supplement their income. Despite being busy, they still dedicated time to caring for and educating their children. The children understood their parents' hardships, so they studied diligently and helped with household chores.
Mrs. Tri shared: "In the past, things were difficult and we lacked resources, but my husband and I encouraged each other to persevere for the family. As long as we loved each other, we could overcome anything. One by one, our children went to university, graduated, and got jobs. Only then did our family's finances stabilize, allowing us to buy land, build a house, and no longer live in communal housing."
Sharing his secret to maintaining a happy marriage for decades, Mr. Bai simply said: "It's nothing big, just knowing how to care for, compromise with, and live for each other is enough. We don't have major conflicts, partly because of our individual personalities, and partly because we set a good example for our children and grandchildren."
Parents' lifestyles greatly influence their children, so both of their children are conscientious in their work as well as in building and maintaining a happy family. For many years, the couple has lived with their youngest son and his wife, and the three-generation family has always been warm and peaceful thanks to the exemplary parents and grandparents and filial children and grandchildren. "Warm at home, peaceful outside," and harmonious with their neighbors, the Bai - Tri family has been a model cultural family in the locality for many years, loved by everyone.
