Ms. Ha Thi Nga (71 years old, residing in Cho Hamlet, Nhon Phu Commune) said that currently, dried coconuts are being harvested directly from the garden by traders at a bulk price of only 5,000 VND/coconut (equivalent to 60,000 VND/dozen), instead of the 18,000-20,000 VND/coconut she earned in September 2025.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, during the week of January 6-12, 2026, the purchase price of dried coconuts at Luong Quoi Coconut Processing Co., Ltd. was only 5,400 VND/coconut (64,800 VND/dozen), a decrease of 900 VND/coconut compared to the previous week; organic dried coconuts were priced at 7,000 VND/coconut (84,000 VND/dozen), a decrease of 500 VND/coconut compared to the previous week.
The sharp drop in coconut prices is due to low export demand, with consumption mainly focused on the domestic market; while supply is abundant because the province has entered the dry season, and most coconut orchards are in the stage of producing dry fruit and being harvested.
