* Today's live pig prices in the northern region remain stable.
Specifically, localities including Yen Bai , Hung Yen, Phu Tho, Thai Binh, Ha Nam and Hanoi all traded at 53,000 VND/kg.
The purchase price recorded in the remaining provinces was 52,000 VND/kg.
Today's live pig price in Northern Vietnam is around 52,000 - 53,000 VND/kg.
* The live pig market in the Central and Central Highlands regions is calm.
Accordingly, 51,000 VND/kg continues to be the trading price recorded in localities including Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Dak Lak and Ninh Thuan .
Other provinces continue to purchase at prices ranging from 52,000 to 53,000 VND/kg.
Currently, the purchase price of live pigs in the Central and Central Highlands regions is around 51,000 - 53,000 VND/kg.
* There have been no new adjustments to live pig prices in the South.
54,000 VND/kg is the purchase price recorded in Ca Mau province.
Other provinces and cities continue to purchase at prices ranging from 50,000 to 53,000 VND/kg.
Today, the price of live pigs in the Southern region is in the range of 50,000 - 54,000 VND/kg.

In Vietnam, according to data from the Department of Animal Health, from the beginning of 2023 to the present, 481 outbreaks of African swine fever have occurred in 42 provinces and cities, resulting in the forced culling of over 18,000 pigs.
Foot-and-mouth disease outbreaks of type O occurred nationwide in 22 cases across 15 districts and towns in 11 provinces and cities, affecting 760 livestock, with 26 animals culled. Lumpy skin disease outbreaks occurred in 100 cases across 15 provinces and cities, affecting 468 livestock, with 95 buffaloes and cattle culled. Swine fever outbreaks occurred in 5 cases, resulting in 542 pigs dying or being culled.
According to the Department of Animal Health, the risk of recurrence and spread of livestock and poultry diseases in the coming period remains high. This includes the risk of African swine fever recurring and spreading widely, as the virus can survive for a long time in the environment and its transmission routes are very complex.
