Pineapple prices remain high.

According to pineapple farmers in Binh An commune (Chau Thanh district), the price of pineapples has remained stable for several months at 9,000-11,000 VND per top-quality fruit (fruits weighing 1kg or more). At this price, pineapple farmers are earning a decent income.

Ms. Nguy Thi Nghinh, residing in An Lac hamlet, Binh An commune, said: "This year's pineapples are less diseased and sweeter than last year. I hope that the price will remain high during the main harvest season to compensate for last year's reduced yield due to leaf blight disease."

Travelers buy pineapples near the Cái Bé bridge area.

According to a pineapple purchasing facility near Cai Be Bridge in Chau Thanh District, the current retail price of second-grade pineapples ranges from 15,000-18,000 VND/fruit, while first-grade pineapples are priced from 22,000-25,000 VND/fruit. These prices have remained stable for several months.

Ms. Ly Thi Binh, a pineapple purchasing agent in Binh An commune, said that pineapple prices may cool down in April 2025 when the peak pineapple harvest season arrives.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Kien Giang province, there are currently more than 7,000 hectares of pineapple plantations in the province, concentrated in several districts such as Go Quao, Chau Thanh, Giong Rieng, Vinh Thuan, Kien Luong, and Hon Dat.
