Rice prices today, May 9th: Raw rice prices increased slightly.

Rice prices in the Mekong Delta region today, May 9, 2025, showed slight fluctuations. Market volume was low, domestic rice prices remained stable, and fresh paddy prices were firm; some export rice varieties saw a slight increase compared to yesterday.

Regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the export price of raw OM 380 rice has increased by 50 VND/kg, fluctuating between 8,000 - 8,100 VND/kg; raw IR 504 rice fluctuates between 8,200 - 8,250 VND/kg; raw CL 555 rice fluctuates between 8,600 - 8,800 VND/kg; raw OM 18 rice fluctuates between 10,200 - 10,400 VND/kg; raw 5451 rice fluctuates between 9,600 - 9,750 VND/kg; finished OM 380 rice fluctuates between 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg; and finished IR 504 rice fluctuates between 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg.

Regarding by-products, the prices of these items range from approximately 7,150 to 9,000 VND/kg. Currently, OM 5451 broken rice is priced at 7,350 - 7,450 VND/kg; and rice bran is priced at 8,000 - 9,000 VND/kg.

According to reports from various localities today, rice varieties 50404 and OM 380 are in short supply, but transactions remain stable. In An Giang , the supply is better, and buying and selling transactions are stable. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), the quantity is low, and prices for all types of rice remain unchanged.

At Sa Dec market (Dong Thap province), the volume is low, large warehouses are buying slowly, and prices remain stable. At An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang province ), the volume is sporadic, buying and selling transactions are slow, and prices are stable.

At retail markets, rice prices remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Currently, Nang Nhen rice is listed highest at 28,000 VND/kg; regular rice ranges from 13,000 to 15,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice ranges from 16,000 to 18,000 VND/kg; common white rice is at 16,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice ranges from 17,000 VND/kg; long-grain Thai fragrant rice ranges from 20,000 to 22,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice is 22,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is at 21,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice is 20,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice is 20,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice is 22,000 VND/kg.

Similarly, regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the current price of OM 380 rice (fresh) ranges from 5,600 to 5,900 VND/kg; IR 50404 rice (fresh) ranges from 5,400 to 5,700 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice (fresh) ranges from 6,200 to 6,400 VND/kg; OM 18 rice (fresh) ranges from 6,800 to 7,000 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) ranges from 6,900 to 7,000 VND/kg; and Nang Hoa 9 rice ranges from 6,650 to 6,750 VND/kg.

Observations in many localities today show that supply is limited, transactions are slow, and prices remain stagnant. In Dong Thap, rice supply is low, harvests are poor, and buying and selling transactions are slow. In Kien Giang, summer-autumn rice prices are stable, and buying and selling transactions are minimal.

In An Giang, the supply of early-harvested summer-autumn rice is limited, farmers are hesitant to sell at low prices, traders are offering low prices, and transactions are sluggish. In Long An, farmers are offering stable prices for summer-autumn rice, but transactions are slow and prices remain stagnant.

On the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained stable compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current price of 5% broken rice is 398 USD/ton (an increase of 1 USD/ton); 25% broken rice is 368 USD/ton; and 100% broken rice is 323 USD/ton.
