Rice price today May 9: Raw rice increased slightly

Rice prices today, May 9, 2025, in the Mekong Delta region fluctuated slightly. The market has low volume, domestic rice of all kinds is stable, fresh rice prices are stable; some exported rice products increased slightly compared to yesterday.

Regarding rice, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the export price of OM 380 raw rice increased by 50 VND/kg, fluctuating at 8,000 - 8,100 VND/kg; IR 504 raw rice fluctuated at 8,200 - 8,250 VND/kg; CL 555 raw rice fluctuated at 8,600 - 8,800 VND/kg; OM 18 raw rice fluctuated at 10,200 - 10,400 VND/kg; 5451 raw rice fluctuated at 9,600 - 9,750 VND/kg; OM 380 finished rice fluctuated at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg; IR 504 finished rice fluctuated at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg.

For by-products, the price of by-products ranges from 7,150 - 9,000 VND/kg. Currently, OM 5451 broken rice ranges from 7,350 - 7,450 VND/kg; bran price ranges from 8,000 - 9,000 VND/kg.

Recorded in localities today, the 50404 and OM 380 varieties have low supply and stable transactions. In An Giang, the supply is better and the buying and selling is stable. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), the quantity is low and the prices of all types of rice are stable.

Sa Dec market channel (Dong Thap), small quantity, large warehouses choose to buy slowly, stable price. At An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang), small quantity, slow buying and selling transactions, stable price.

At retail markets, rice prices of all kinds remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Currently, Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of VND28,000/kg; regular rice fluctuates at VND13,000 - 15,000/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice fluctuates at VND16,000 - 18,000/kg; common white rice fluctuates at VND16,000/kg; Soc rice often fluctuates at VND17,000/kg; long-grain fragrant rice fluctuates at VND20,000 - 22,000/kg; Huong Lai rice 22,000/kg; Nang Hoa rice 21,000/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 20,000/kg; Soc Thai rice 20,000/kg; Japanese rice 22,000/kg.

Recorded in many localities today, the supply is low, transactions are slow, and prices are stable. In Dong Thap, the supply of rice is low, recovery is low, and transactions are slow. In Kien Giang, the price of summer-autumn rice is stable, and transactions are few.

In An Giang, the early harvest of Summer-Autumn rice is low in quantity, farmers are reluctant to sell at a fixed price, traders offer low prices, and transactions are sparse. In Long An, farmers offer stable Summer-Autumn rice prices, new transactions are slow, and prices are stable.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained stable compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), currently 5% standard rice is at 398 USD/ton (up 1 USD/ton); 25% broken rice is at 368 USD/ton; 100% broken rice is at 323 USD/ton.
