Yamal has truly conquered world football since making his first-team debut at the age of 15 in 2023.

In just over 2 years, he has gone from a teenage player to a strong candidate for the Ballon d'Or award... And now the most expensive football player on the planet.

According to the latest announcement from the International Football Observatory (CIES Football Observatory), Yamal tops the global rankings with a staggering market value of 402 million euros. Yamal's value is almost double that of the second player on the list, Erling Haaland, who is worth 240 million euros.

Interestingly, Mbappe (€194m) is not the most valuable Real Madrid player on the list, with Jude Bellingham one place above him. Bellingham is valued at €234m after making an impressive start to life in the Spanish capital, despite failing to win any trophies this season.

Cole Palmer is the only English player to make the top 10, coming in eighth with €127m behind Jamal Musiala (€155m), Pedri (€144m) and Vinicius (€130m).

Liverpool's hotly-hunted star Florian Wirtz is ranked 10th with 122 million euros, behind Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez (126 million euros).

Also according to the CIES list, the Premier League dominates the top 100 rankings, with 42 players present, while La Liga has 19 players, ranking second.

Champions League champions PSG have the most players in the top 100 with 11. PSG's most valuable player is not Dembele but Joao Neves in 13th place (117 million euros).
