At the end of the trading week from June 23rd to June 29th, the price of SJC gold bars was listed by major businesses at 117.2-119.2 million VND/ounce (buying price - selling price).
Last week, the highest price for SJC gold bars was 118-120 million VND/ounce (buying price - selling price) on June 27th. Compared to the peak during the week, both the buying and selling prices decreased by 800,000 VND/ounce.
The price of plain gold rings closed last week at 113.2-115.7 million VND/ounce (buy - sell), a decrease of 600,000 VND/ounce in both buying and selling prices.

World gold prices this morning (June 20th, Vietnam time) were around $3,268 per ounce, down $6 from earlier and equivalent to VND 103.5 million per tael (approximately 37.5 grams) based on the exchange rate excluding taxes and fees.
According to experts, the recent decline in gold prices reflects the cautious sentiment typically seen during the summer, combined with investors returning to riskier assets due to positive economic signals and a temporary easing of geopolitical tensions.
This week, among the 17 analysts participating in Kitco's survey, 6 experts, or 35%, believe that the price of gold will rise, 9 experts, or 53%, predict that the precious metal will fall, while the remaining 2 experts, or 12%, predict that the price of gold will remain unchanged.
Meanwhile, of the 231 individual investors participating in the online survey, 119 (51.5%) expected prices to rise, 63 (27.2%) predicted prices would fall, while the remaining 49 (21.3%) believed prices would fluctuate within a narrow range.
Exchange rates cool down.
The USD-Index – a measure of the dollar's fluctuations against six major currencies – fell 0.23% from the previous day, to 97.18 points.
In the foreign exchange market, the central exchange rate listed by the State Bank of Vietnam is 25,048 VND/USD, a further decrease of 5 VND compared to the previous session. With a 5% margin, the ceiling and floor exchange rates are 26,300 VND/USD and 23,795 VND/USD respectively.
The USD exchange rate listed by major banks is 25,880-26,270 VND (buying - selling), a decrease of 20 VND in both buying and selling rates. Meanwhile, at joint-stock banks, the corresponding exchange rate for buying and selling is 25,890-26,280 VND (buying - selling).
In the free market, the USD exchange rate is trading at 26,370-26,470 VND (buying - selling), unchanged from before.
