At the meeting, Ms. Do Nguyen Hoang Dung - Acting Editor-in-Chief of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Tournament, informed that the 24th Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper Cross-Country Race in 2023 is an event to celebrate the 32nd anniversary of the establishment of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province (August 12, 1991 - August 12, 2023); 78 years of the August Revolution and National Day September 2; 43 years of the traditional day of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper (September 10, 1980 - September 10, 2023). The tournament is organized by Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper in coordination with the Department of Culture - Sports.

The Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper Cross Country Race is a regional event in the Southeast region, which is a positive step in preparing forces to participate in the national cross country race, contributing to promoting the strong and even development of the sports movement in the Southeast provinces and cities. Through the Cross Country Race, it will contribute to introducing the tourism and investment potential of Ba Ria - Vung Tau to domestic and international tourists.
According to Ms. Do Nguyen Hoang Dung, up to now, 2,460 athletes have registered for the distances of 3km, 5km, 10km and 21km. Of which, on the 10 and 21km runs (sold BIB), there are 860 athletes registered to compete. Together with the accompanying runners, the 24th Cross Country Race is expected to be a running festival in the coastal city of Vung Tau with more than 3,000 people.
This year, the Cross Country Race has an additional distance of 21km, but it is supported by a chip to calculate the results. The representative of the referee team said that they will ensure maximum accuracy in calculating the scores. Security forces will support and protect the safety of the athletes who start early at the distance of 21km.
On the sidelines of the exciting race of athletes, there will be a fashion and music program with the participation of Si Luan, Quoc Dai, Nhat Nguyet group and DJ BNUST. Designer Viet Hung will introduce a new fashion collection, with the participation of many famous models.
The 24th Cross Country Race will officially open at 6:00 a.m. on August 26 in Vung Tau City.
