A candidate in Thu Duc City needed assistance from an invigilator in writing their essay.

During this year's high school graduation exam, Ho Chi Minh City had three candidates requiring special assistance. One of them, from Tan Binh district, suffered from myelitis and had to stay in bed. The head of the examination center arranged for this candidate to take the exam in a private room on the ground floor. They also assigned staff to assist with writing the exam papers for the candidate.

In addition, one candidate in Thu Duc City suffered burns and another in Cu Chi suffered a broken right arm. Both examination centers arranged for these two candidates to take the exam in separate rooms, with staff assisting in recording their answers.

All of the examination rooms are equipped with surveillance cameras in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has planned 162 examination sites, including 87 sites with independent candidates, with a total of more than 3,800 examination rooms. The Department has also mobilized 15,900 officials, teachers, and staff to serve in all stages of the examination.

Before the official start of the high school graduation exam, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training reminded high schools and exam centers to allow candidates sufficient time for travel to the exam site and to pay attention to weather conditions.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training also requested that during this afternoon's briefing, invigilators fully explain the examination regulations to the candidates. In particular, they should carefully remind candidates of the items they are allowed to bring into the examination room and those that are not.

A note from Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, to candidates before entering the high school graduation exam.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, stated: "Heads of examination centers must directly assign tasks to each invigilator in each examination room. Before opening the envelopes containing the exam papers for each subject, candidates should be reminded once again to check their belongings and ensure they bring no prohibited items into the examination room. Absolutely no candidates should be allowed to bring prohibited items into the examination room, especially mobile phones."

Only geography atlases for the 2006 General Education Program are allowed in the examination room.

The 2024 high school graduation exam is the final exam under the 2006 General Education Program. Therefore, in his notes to candidates regarding permitted items in the exam room, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu further reminded candidates to pay attention to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training regarding the use of geographical atlases when taking the geography exam. Accordingly, candidates should note that the Vietnamese geographical atlas is compiled according to the 2006 General Education Program (without any markings or additional written content).

At the same time, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu advised candidates who forget their exam documents or exam cards not to return home but to go to the exam center and report to the head of the exam center so that the head can assist in resolving the issue. Returning home to retrieve forgotten documents could affect travel time to the exam center or lead to stress, impacting their performance on the exam.
