NDO - On December 26th, after a fluctuating morning session, increased selling pressure in the afternoon caused the market to become polarized and reverse its upward trend, with stocks in many sectors such as telecommunications, transportation, securities, and information technology falling into the red. At the close of trading, the VN-Index decreased by 1.17 points to 1,272.87 points.


Market liquidity decreased sharply compared to the previous session, with a total trading volume of over 730.96 million shares across all three exchanges, equivalent to a total trading value of over 15,828.70 billion VND.

After two consecutive net buying sessions, foreign investors returned to net selling in this session, offloading over VND 375.60 billion, focusing on stocks such as VCB (over VND 149 billion),FPT (over VND 67 billion), VNM (over VND 49 billion), STB (over VND 44 billion), NLG (over VND 32 billion), etc.

Conversely, stocks with significant net buying in this session included SSI (over 43 billion VND), CTG (over 39 billion VND), VHM (over 26 billion VND), PDR (over 22 billion VND), MCH (over 16 billion VND), etc.

On the HoSE exchange, the trading value in this session decreased sharply compared to the previous session, reaching over 10,640.39 billion VND.

In this session, the stocks that contributed positively to the VN-Index's increase of over 3.01 points included: MBB, BID, VIB, STB, PGV, HDB, HVN,ACB , BCM, and TPB.

Conversely, the stocks that negatively impacted the VN-Index, causing it to drop by more than 2.36 points, included: VCB, FPT, MWG, SSB, HPG, LPB, GVR, BVH, TCB, and DGC.

In terms of sectors, the biggest decline in this session was in the telecommunications services sector (-1.22%), mainly driven by stocks like VGI, FOX, and CTR…

Next, the transportation sector stocks (-0.70%), mainly from ACV, MVN, VJC, VTP, PHB, PVT…; Conversely, gainers included HVN, VSC, STG, DVP…

The consumer services sector saw a 0.68% decline, mainly driven by stocks like DSP, VNG , DAH, PDC, VLA… Some stocks that rose included DSN, BTV, EIN…

In this session, the energy sector stocks saw the strongest increase (0.98%), mainly driven by BSR, PVD, TMB, CST, TVD, AAH… The declining stocks included PVS, POS…

The second strongest gain was in the specialized services and trade sector (0.84%), mainly driven by stocks like VEF and ODE. Stocks that declined included TV2, TV4, and USD.

The utility services sector also performed quite positively with a 0.46% increase, mainly driven by stocks such as GAS, PGV, BWE, QTP, TDM, TMP, PPC, SHP… Conversely, declining stocks included REE, HND, HNA, BWS, PGD, VPD, PGS…

* The Vietnamese stock market index reversed its upward trend at the end of the morning session and remained in the red until the end of trading. The VNXALL-Index closed down 2.97 points (-0.14%), at 2,118.64 points. Trading volume exceeded 577.17 million units, equivalent to a trading value of over 13,882.12 billion VND. Across the market, 178 stocks increased in price, 91 remained unchanged, and 200 decreased.

* On the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX), the HNX-Index closed at 229.90 points, up 0.09 points (+0.04%). Total trading volume reached over 71.24 million shares, with a corresponding transaction value of over 1,152.52 billion VND. Across the entire market, 81 stocks increased in price, 71 remained unchanged, and 72 decreased.

The HNX30 index closed up 0.44 points (+0.09%) at 485.74 points. Trading volume reached over 17.81 million units, with a corresponding value of over 442.43 billion VND. Across the entire market, there were 9 gainers, 8 unchanged stocks, and 13 losers.

On the UPCoM market, the UPCoM-Index closed at 94.41 points, down 0.18 points (-0.19%). Total market liquidity reached over 64.51 million shares traded, with a corresponding trading value of over 964.17 billion VND. Across the market, 166 stocks increased in price, 95 remained unchanged, and 124 decreased.

* On the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index closed down 1.17 points (-0.09%), at 1,272.87 points. Trading volume reached over 595.21 million units, equivalent to a transaction value of VND 13,712.01 billion. Across the entire exchange, there were 186 gainers, 70 unchanged stocks, and 227 losers.

The VN30 index rose 0.20 points (+0.01%) to 1,342.68 points. Trading volume reached over 208.59 million units, equivalent to a transaction value of over 6,817.49 VND. At the end of the trading day, 12 VN30 stocks increased, 4 remained unchanged, and 14 decreased.

The top 5 stocks with the highest trading volume were VIB (over 21.86 million units), MBB (over 19.90 million units), BCG (over 16.55 million units), STB (over 16.44 million units), and DXG (over 20.26 million units).

The top 5 gainers were PGV (+6.99%), TDH (+6.92%), TMT (+6.91%), LGL (+6.91%), and BMC (+6.90%).

The top 5 declining stocks were YEG (-6.90%), TNC (-6.84%), TEG (-6.29%), TDW (-6.08%), and CCI (-6.07%).

* Today's derivatives market saw 115,175 contracts traded, with a value exceeding VND 15,543.65 billion.
