Transportation infrastructure

Transportation infrastructure in Linh Son commune is becoming increasingly well-developed, contributing to the promotion of tourism .

Years ago, the road to Nang Cat village and the Ma Hao waterfall area was quite narrow and dilapidated, making travel difficult, especially during the rainy season. Sharp bends and muddy roads made the already long journey to this highland tourist area even more arduous. Many tourists were hesitant to choose this destination. However, with the investment and support from the province and local authorities, the transportation infrastructure in Linh Son commune has been gradually upgraded and expanded. Many resources from programs and policies supporting mountainous areas have been prioritized and implemented, creating momentum for socio- economic development and local tourism.

Previously, to encourage localities to develop transportation infrastructure, the Provincial People's Council issued Resolution No. 184/2021/NQ-HĐND dated December 10, 2021, on policies to encourage rural transportation development in the 2022-2025 period. By effectively utilizing these resources, many key roads in Linh Son commune have received investment. In particular, the road from En village to Nang Cat village, scheduled for completion in 2025, has facilitated connectivity from the commune center to the community tourism area. Not only have the main transportation arteries received investment, but many internal village roads and branch roads leading to the tourism area have also been concreted using funds from the New Rural Development Program.

Mr. Lo Van Duan, head of Nang Cat village, still remembers that in the past, people faced many difficulties in getting around. When it rained heavily, the roads became slippery, making it very difficult to transport goods or travel to the commune center. In recent years, with gradual investment in transportation, the lives of the people and tourism activities have seen many positive changes.

"Transportation infrastructure not only serves tourism development but also facilitates the transportation of agricultural products by the people of Nang Cat village, expanding homestay services, trading local products, and accessing essential services. When roads are more convenient, more tourists come, and the villagers earn more income. The education and travel of children are also safer and more convenient than before," Mr. Duan said.

Arriving at Ma Hao Waterfall early in the morning, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, a tourist from Quang Phu ward, was quite surprised by the significant improvement in the transportation infrastructure to the tourist area. His last visit to Ma Hao Waterfall coincided with the Chi Linh Son Festival. That time, he found it quite difficult, with narrow roads and sections where two vehicles could barely pass each other. Now, the roads are much clearer, and traffic flows more easily, resulting in more tourists visiting this time.

It can be said that, for tourists, improved transportation not only makes journeys safer and more convenient but also creates a sense of closeness. For the people of Nang Cat village, the investment in transportation infrastructure has brought many positive changes to their lives. The distance between the village and the commune center has gradually shortened; trade is easier than before. Along with the development of community tourism, improved transportation is opening up more opportunities for people to develop their economy.

Mr. Lo Van Duan is proud that the village has preserved its pristine beauty with ancient forests, streams, and waterfalls, along with the rich cultural life of the Black Thai people. At the tourist area, visitors can experience many traditional dishes such as bamboo rice, grilled free-range pork, fish sauce, wild vegetables, and herbal rice wine; and participate in folk cultural activities such as throwing the ball, bamboo pole dancing, Xoe dance, field drumming, and gong playing.

According to Mr. Ha Van Hoai, Vice Chairman of the Linh Son Commune People's Committee, the synchronized investment in transportation infrastructure over the past period has significantly contributed to promoting tourism development in the area, especially community tourism associated with Nang Cat village - Ma Hao waterfall and other cultural and historical relics of the locality. The locality will continue to effectively utilize resources from national target programs, along with other investment capital sources, to gradually complete the transportation system in a synchronized manner, connecting the commune center with tourist destinations, community villages, and inter-regional transportation routes.

“Linh Son commune recognizes that transportation is a crucial foundation for sustainable socio-economic and tourism development. Therefore, the commune will continue to prioritize investment in expanding several key routes to create more convenience for residents and attract tourists to the area,” Mr. Hoai emphasized.
