Improved transportation infrastructure leads to economic growth.

From a province facing many difficulties, Binh Thuan has made a strong transformation in economic development with three pillars: industry, tourism, and high-tech agriculture. GDP has increased annually, tourism ranks among the top 10 in the country, and industry has attracted large, strategic investors... To achieve these results, in addition to other factors, the gradual improvement of the transportation system is one of the key elements contributing to Binh Thuan's success...

The Thang Long Project Management Board is gathering machinery and equipment to prepare for the construction of an overpass at the junction between National Highway 1A and the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway.

In mid-June, the Thang Long Project Management Board was assembling machinery and equipment to prepare for the construction of an overpass at the junction between National Highway 1A and the Phan Thiet – Dau Giay Expressway (km 14). This is a crucial junction to alleviate traffic congestion and reduce traffic accidents, as thousands of cars from southern provinces flock to Phan Thiet for tourism on weekends, causing constant traffic jams at the intersection, sometimes stretching for kilometers. Mr. Nguyen Van Ngoc, a driver transporting passengers from Ho Chi Minh City, said: "On June 17th, seeing the construction unit assembling equipment to prepare for the overpass at Ba Bau, we were very happy. For the past two years, since the Phan Thiet – Dau Giay Expressway opened, I've brought many passengers from southern provinces and international tourists to Binh Thuan, 2-4 trips a week. However, the Ham Kiem – National Highway 1A junction (Ba Bau) was a major concern because of the traffic jams that sometimes lasted for hours." Therefore, when the overpass was built, not only the people of Binh Thuan but also many people in the southern provinces were very excited, hoping that in the future, traveling on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway to Tien Thanh and Mui Ne would be faster, less congested, and safer...

The construction of the overpass at the intersection of the Ham Kiem Expressway and National Highway 1A is one of hundreds of pieces of good news for the people, as for many years, Binh Thuan has seen the inauguration and operation of key provincial roads or bridges almost every year. The increasing number of roads and bridges put into operation helps to gradually complete and improve the effectiveness of Binh Thuan's transportation infrastructure. Currently, Binh Thuan's external transportation system relies on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway, Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway, National Highway 1A, National Highway 55, National Highway 28, and National Highway 28B with a total length of 672 km, as well as the coastal arterial road section from Hoa Thang to Hoa Phu, the road from Hung Vuong Bridge to DT.706B (part of the Mui Ne - Phu Hai section), DT 719, and a part of 719B. Construction is currently underway on the Phan Thiet - Ke Ga section (phase 2, DT.719B), and the Tan Hai - Hon Lan section...

Regarding internal transportation, the province has approximately 650 km of provincial roads, 536 km of district roads, 1,967.34 km of commune roads, 887.86 km of urban roads, 2,500 km of rural roads, and 48.65 km of specialized roads, creating a road network that can reach villages, communes, and regions within the province. For some important provincial roads that serve as external transportation routes, such as DT.720, DT.766, DT.712, DT.714, etc., investment has been gradually completed, and regular maintenance has been carried out to meet the needs of travel and transportation of goods – agricultural and forestry products – changing the face of rural areas and contributing to the socio -economic development of the province. In Phan Thiet, the tourism center has gradually developed over the years to match its city-level scale, while also contributing to the improvement and beautification of the urban landscape through projects such as Le Duan Street, Hung Vuong Street, the road from Hung Vuong Bridge to DT.706B road, the road to Phan Thiet airport, So Muoi Bridge, and the repair of Duc Thanh Bridge and Ke Bridge...

The effort to improve road transport infrastructure to contribute to socio-economic development, especially in the three main pillars of the economy – industry, tourism, and high-tech agriculture – is a strategy that Binh Thuan has pursued for many years and has yielded positive results.
