Phu Tho, the ancestral land of the Vietnamese nation, proudly hosts the Hung Kings Commemoration Day – a major event where people nationwide and overseas Vietnamese pay tribute to the merits of their ancestors. Every year, on the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month, Phu Tho province is honored to welcome millions of visitors from all over the country to offer incense and remember the Hung Kings. Through continuous efforts, Phu Tho has elevated the organization of the Hung Kings Commemoration Day and the Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week into a model, solemn festival deeply rooted in national identity.

This year's Hung Kings Commemoration Day and Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week promises to attract a large number of people and tourists from all over, especially with workers having a three-day holiday (from March 8th to 10th according to the lunar calendar). The event will feature many unique activities, vividly recreating the culture of the Hung Kings era, while inheriting and promoting traditional values ​​in contemporary society.

The Hung Kings Commemoration Ceremony was held solemnly and respectfully according to national customs, with the ritual of offering incense and flowers by delegations from the Party and State, along with a large number of people from all over the country. In addition, a series of cultural, sports , and tourism activities during the Hung Kings Commemoration Week in 2025 will be vibrant and deeply rooted in the identity of the ancestral land. The event not only provides opportunities for tourists to experience and explore cultural heritage but also contributes to widely promoting the historical, cultural, and human image of Phu Tho – a land rich in tourism potential.

Currently, preparations for the Hung Kings Commemoration Day are being urgently implemented to ensure a safe and civilized festival. Relevant agencies and units are focusing on completing all aspects, from infrastructure and developing detailed programs for cultural, artistic, and sports activities, to implementing plans to ensure security, order, and traffic safety. At the same time, disease prevention and control, and environmental sanitation are also being prioritized, ready to welcome people from all over the country to offer incense and pay respects to the ancestors in a solemn and respectful atmosphere.

Phu Tho province has directed relevant agencies and units to strengthen planning and reorganize the system of shops and service points in the historical site area to ensure aesthetics and civility. At the same time, it is intensifying inspections and strictly handling violations in business activities, especially during the festival period.

Tourism management is also emphasized, with requirements for tourist areas, attractions, and service businesses in the area to upgrade facilities, improve the environmental landscape, enhance product quality, and ensure security and safety conditions to best serve tourists participating in the Hung Kings Commemoration Day and the Hung Kings' Cultural and Tourism Week in 2025.

Propaganda activities have been intensified to raise community awareness of the sacred significance of the festival, to awaken national pride and responsibility for preserving culture. In particular, the province focuses on promoting the cultural values ​​of the Hung King era, while guiding residents and tourists to practice civilized behavior, voluntarily maintain security and order, keep the environment clean, and adhere to the code of conduct during the festival.

Aiming to build a model festival nationwide, the People's Committee of Phu Tho province has directed departments, agencies, and localities to implement comprehensive solutions to ensure safety and civility. Particular emphasis is placed on preventing traffic congestion and preventing businesses from arbitrarily increasing prices or overcharging tourists. Service businesses must publicly display prices and ensure transparency. Furthermore, the province is resolutely preventing homeless people from affecting the solemn image of the festival. Simultaneously, it maintains order, minimizes crowding and pushing, and creates conditions for people nationwide to participate in the festival safely and respectfully.

Mr. Nguyen Huy Ngoc, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Organizing Committee for the Hung Kings Commemoration Day and the Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week 2025, affirmed: “Along with traditional activities, the Hung Kings Commemoration Day and the Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week 2025 will have many new features, promising to bring unique experiences to the people and tourists. A special highlight is the opening art program of the Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week with the theme “Echoes of the Ancestral Roots” taking place on the evening of March 1st (lunar calendar) at Hung Vuong Square.”

From March 1st to 9th (lunar calendar), Van Lang Park will transform into a vibrant cultural space with a series of evening art programs for the people and tourists. Highlights include: Xoan singing performances by Xoan singing and folk music clubs, public art performances, exchanges with youth dance groups, guitar bands, folk dance clubs, and the art program "Returning to the Festival City". Especially on the evening of March 9th (lunar calendar), there will be a high-altitude fireworks display over Van Lang Park lake, creating a dazzling highlight to conclude the colorful series of artistic activities. In addition, the "Colorful Tourism of the Ancestral Land - Phu Tho 2025" program will also be organized, enriching the visitor experience and enhancing the attractiveness of the festival.

Along with cultural activities, this year's festival also features many sports events, creating a vibrant and meaningful playground, including: the "Remembering the Source" Golf Tournament - Phu Tho 2025, the Martial Arts Festival focusing on the Ancestral Roots, the "Returning to the Source" Marathon 2025... These activities not only contribute to promoting the image of the Ancestral Land but also spread the spirit of solidarity and community cohesion through sports and culture.

On March 31st, at the Hung Vuong Museum, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Tho province, in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Phuc province, inaugurated a thematic exhibition titled "Hung Vuong Culture in the Flow of Red River Civilization".

The event, part of the Hung Kings Commemoration Day and the 2025 Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week, showcases 300 representative artifacts from the dawn of the nation's history. The exhibition is divided into two parts: Cultural heritage of the Hung Kings era in Phu Tho and Pre-Hung Kings archaeological remains in Vinh Phuc.

Visitors can admire artifacts from the Phung Nguyen, Go Mun, and Dong Son cultures, along with documents about the Hung King worshiping belief and Phu Tho Xoan singing. On this occasion, the Phu Tho Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also held a trial screening of the documentary film "The Hung King Era" using full HD technology and 3D special effects.
