In the coming period, Phu Tho province will focus on developing new tourism products, promoting the night-time economy associated with heritage sites, and improving the quality of the Hung Kings Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival in a professional, distinctive, and in-depth manner. This is the direction set by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Tho province, Tran Duy Dong, at the conference summarizing the organization of the Hung Kings Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival and the Hung Kings Land Culture and Tourism Week in 2026, held on June 2nd.
According to assessments at the conference, the Hung Kings Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival and the Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week in 2026 will be organized in the newly merged Phu Tho province, with many innovations in organizational work.
The festival section was implemented synchronously with more than 20 cultural, artistic, sports , tourism, exhibition and folk performance events, attracting the participation of 148 communes and wards.
In particular, the province has successfully revived the Street Folk Culture Festival, contributing to creating more cultural experience spaces for locals and tourists. Communication efforts have been implemented synchronously and effectively, with over 10,000 news articles, reports, and features published in various media outlets and digital platforms.
During the festival, Phu Tho welcomed approximately 6.5 million visitors, a 12% increase compared to the previous year, contributing to the development of the local service and tourism industry.
To further improve the quality of festival organization in the coming years, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Tho province requested that departments, agencies, and localities continue to innovate the content and form of organization in a professional and distinctive manner, focusing on the cultural values of the Hung King era and the identity of the ancestral land.
The province will proactively research and develop a program for the Hung Kings Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival in 2027, linked with the Phu Tho Tourism Year; review and select typical activities, create unique highlights, and promote the participation of the community in organizing the festival.
According to Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Duy Dong, Phu Tho will study the development of tourism tours connecting Hung Temple with the system of relics, heritage sites, and tourist destinations in the province; forming key tourism routes along cultural, natural, and resort axes to attract tourists year-round.
In addition, the province focuses on developing the night-time economy associated with heritage; initially, improving the quality of the "Sacred Hung Temple Night - Ancestral Heritage" tour, while also researching and developing live art programs about the Hung King era, drone light shows, and expanding the performance space for traditional art forms such as Xoan singing, Gheo singing, Muong gong music, Duc Bac drum singing, Cheo theater, etc.
Phu Tho province is also orienting its investment towards more systematic cultural and artistic programs; expanding the scale of sports activities, exhibitions, investment promotion, trade, and tourism.
Notably, the local authorities are planning to organize an art program on the evening of the 9th day of the 3rd lunar month, combined with a high-altitude fireworks display and a street folk culture festival, to enhance the appeal of the event series.
