The voluntary blood donation movement in Mong Cai City has continuously developed in recent times, attracting enthusiastic participation from a wide range of people. Most recently, at the beginning of June, the city organized the second voluntary blood donation campaign of 2025 and honored outstanding blood donors. With the message "Donate a drop of blood - Give the gift of life"; "A drop of blood at the border," the program received approximately 600 units of blood. Through this, it promoted and encouraged all healthy citizens to actively participate in voluntary blood donation, meeting the blood needs for emergency care and treatment of patients.
Earlier in March, the city organized the first voluntary blood donation campaign of 2025. With the message "Donate a drop of blood - Give the gift of life"; "Donate blood in the spring - Multiply happiness"... the program attracted over 1,000 volunteers and blood donors throughout the city. Many of these volunteers had donated blood multiple times; resulting in the collection of over 600 units of blood.
During the 2025 voluntary blood donation drives, reporters met many familiar faces actively participating in the voluntary blood donation movement, such as Mr. Nguyen Duy Khanh, Secretary of the Party Committee of Vinh Trung commune, who has donated blood 17 times; Mr. Truong Hong Duc (Provincial Police) who has donated blood 20 times; and the family of Ms. Ta Thi Tinh, a teacher at Ka Long Primary School.
Ms. Ta Thi Tinh said: "I have been a voluntary blood donor for 7 years. This year, my husband, daughter, and I are donating blood together. My family wants to educate and instill in our children love and compassion for the sick and those less fortunate. I believe that having the health to donate blood to save lives is also a way to spread love and contribute to building a more humane and better society."
It is evident that the voluntary blood donation movement in recent times has received significant attention and guidance from the Party Committee and the government of Mong Cai City. They have effectively promoted the movement, mobilized the entire political system, contributed to the business community, and actively participated in various organizations, agencies, units, officials, civil servants, employees, and the people in the area. Many large-scale blood donation campaigns and events have been organized and received strong support from all segments of the population. This affirms the active involvement of the entire political system, truly spreading widely in the community and carrying profound humanitarian and philanthropic significance.
