The province currently has 646 schools, including 637 public schools and 9 private schools. Immediately after the end of the school year, schools proactively implemented asset inventory, general cleaning of school premises, and arrangement and maintenance of teaching equipment. Many schools brought machinery and equipment from remote village schools to the central school for storage in sturdy classrooms, elevated to minimize damage from the weather. At the same time, schools established summer duty schedules for school principals and security staff; regularly inspected electrical systems and classrooms; and carried out cleaning and maintenance of computers and electronic equipment according to regulations.
At Tan Lien Secondary School in Ky Lua Ward, although teaching and learning activities have temporarily stopped and students are on summer vacation, the school's management and staff still take turns on duty to inspect, maintain facilities, and keep the school clean. Mr. Hua Ngoc Luyen, the school's Deputy Principal, said: During the summer break, the school assigns staff to regularly inspect classrooms, functional rooms, the electrical and water systems, and the overall condition of the school's facilities. At the same time, the school closely monitors construction projects, promptly detecting and addressing any damage caused by storms or unusual weather, ensuring that assets and equipment are well managed and maintained before the start of the new school year.
Similarly, at Chi Lang High School, the maintenance of school facilities is also being implemented seriously. The school currently has 30 classrooms and 7 functional rooms. Mr. Hoang Manh Hung, the school principal, said: After the end of the school year, all staff, teachers, and employees conducted an inventory of assets, a thorough cleaning, and neatly arranged classrooms and desks. Throughout the summer break, the school management took turns on duty, assigning staff to regularly inspect classrooms and equipment, and arranging security guards on night duty to ensure the safety of assets. Thanks to the proactive approach and sense of responsibility of the staff and teachers, the maintenance of the school's facilities has always been carried out effectively.
According to observations at schools throughout the province, in addition to assigning summer duty rosters, schools have also developed specific plans for preserving each type of asset. For textbooks, notebooks, and other usable learning materials, schools organize a thorough review, classification, and systematic arrangement to prevent damage, while also developing appropriate distribution plans to minimize waste. For outdoor preschool educational equipment, schools cover, dismantle, or move them to safe storage locations to minimize the impact of weather and external factors.
In addition, teaching equipment, supplies, and toys in the classroom are cleaned thoroughly before being stored; they are arranged on shelves or in enclosed rooms to prevent mold and damage. For electronic equipment, foreign language classrooms, computer labs, and multi-functional classrooms, schools check their operational status, clean the machinery, disconnect the power supply, and store them in secure areas. Blankets, sheets, mats, and pillows used by boarding and day students are washed and carefully packaged before storage.
From assigning summer duty rosters and intensifying inspections of electrical and water systems to fire prevention and maintenance of equipment and facilities, schools throughout the province are proactively safeguarding their school grounds during the summer break. This not only effectively protects public assets but also creates favorable conditions for educational institutions to be ready for the new school year with adequate facilities and a safe, well-maintained learning environment.
