Given the nature of the power industry – a field that cannot tolerate interruptions – during the April 30th - May 1st holiday, Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant (Vung Ang Economic Zone) maintained stable operations as usual. The working atmosphere was urgent and serious in all departments. From the central control room to the field sites, shifts were fully deployed, ensuring that both generating units operated continuously, safely, and efficiently, contributing to national energy security.
Mr. Duong Thanh Lam – Operations Workshop, Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant shared: "Working during national holidays is both a responsibility and a source of pride for electrical engineers. Although we don't have as much time to spend with our families as many other professions, we always clearly understand our role and strive to ensure the safe operation of the power units, contributing to maintaining a stable power supply for production and people's lives."

According to Mr. Nguyen Mau Cam, Deputy Director of Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant: The plant's staff and workers always uphold a high sense of responsibility, focusing on maintaining safe, stable, and efficient production. Given the nature of continuous operation, we pay special attention to equipment inspection and monitoring; maintenance and servicing of machinery to detect and promptly address any potential risks. In the first four months of the year, Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant contributed 2.6 billion kWh to the national grid, creating a solid foundation to soon achieve the target of over 6.5 billion kWh of commercial electricity production in 2026.

Not only the electricity sector, but also the petroleum business – a crucial link in the economy – was maintained continuously during the holiday period. Petrolimex Ha Tinh Co., Ltd. (Thanh Sen Ward) proactively developed its holiday business plan early on, with the overarching goal of ensuring uninterrupted supply at all times. The entire system of retail gasoline stations in the area maintained 24/7 operation.
At the same time, the unit flexibly implemented the stockpiling and coordination of goods, closely following market demand developments, especially in the context of increased traffic volume and fuel consumption during the holiday period. This contributed to ensuring the travel needs of the people, as well as maintaining the production and business pace of enterprises.

Mr. Truong Doan Duc, Deputy Director of Petrolimex Ha Tinh Co., Ltd., said: “Our main task is to ensure the supply of goods and to allocate the workforce appropriately to serve customers in the best way. The company proactively developed a supply plan more than two weeks ago, increasing the supply by 20-30% compared to normal times to meet market demand.”
Currently, all 81 gas stations in the area are operating smoothly and stably. Employees are provided with all benefits and policies as stipulated, and also receive allowances for working on holidays. In addition, we are paying special attention to strictly implementing safety regulations, especially fire prevention and control, and ensuring financial security at all stations.”

Besides businesses that worked throughout the four-day holiday, many manufacturing and processing businesses in the area flexibly arranged their work schedules to ensure both order fulfillment and employee rest. Alongside maintaining production, businesses also paid special attention to the welfare and policies for employees working during the holiday. Many units fully implemented salary and bonus schemes as stipulated, while also providing additional support and encouragement, contributing to a positive and secure working environment for their employees.
Mr. Phan Tri Nghia – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Song La Xanh Packaging Joint Stock Company (Duc Tho Industrial Cluster) said: “During the 4-day holiday from April 30th to May 1st, the company will take 2 days off and work 2 days to ensure the progress of orders for our partners. The company also ensures full salary and bonus payments during the holiday to motivate employees to work with peace of mind.”

Maintaining production and business operations throughout the holiday period by the business community is not simply about ensuring the individual plans of each unit, but also demonstrates a sense of responsibility towards the overall economy. The proactive approach of businesses has significantly contributed to maintaining supply chains, stabilizing the market, and effectively serving the needs of the people, thereby contributing to economic growth.
