The sight of officers and soldiers from the Chieng Son Border Guard Post visiting each household to disseminate legal information and encourage people to participate in protecting the border and boundary markers has become familiar to the people of Pha Luong border village. Since the beginning of the year, the Post has coordinated with agencies, departments, and organizations of the two communes to organize 14 propaganda sessions for more than 2,300 people on regulations regarding border management and protection, crime prevention, and maintaining security and order.
Mr. Giàng A Sợi, Party Secretary and Head of Pha Luông village, shared: The village has 124 households with 810 inhabitants, mainly ethnic Mong people. Border guards regularly come down to the village to disseminate information and laws, helping people better understand their responsibilities and actively cooperate with functional forces to maintain security and order in the border area. Currently, the village has established a security and order team with 3 members; and a border protection team with 5 members, which periodically coordinate with officers and soldiers of Chiềng Sơn Border Guard Post to patrol and protect the border and national boundary markers.

Along with propaganda and mobilization, the Border Guard Post actively participates in building and strengthening the political system. Currently, the unit has two members on the Party Committees of Chiềng Sơn and Xuân Nha communes; 13 Party members participate in activities at 13 Party branches in border villages and sub-districts; and 20 Party members are responsible for 58 households. Thanks to this, many policies and guidelines are implemented promptly to each household; at the same time, it helps local Party committees and authorities understand the thoughts and aspirations of the people and resolve emerging issues at the grassroots level.
With the consensus of the people, the movement for all citizens to participate in protecting national territorial sovereignty and border security is spreading more and more widely. Currently, in the two communes, there are 3 self-governing groups with 303 households participating with border guards in patrolling and protecting the border, and proactively providing many valuable sources of information to serve the fight against crime.

Lieutenant Colonel Vu Quyen Mua, Deputy Political Officer of Chieng Son Border Guard Station, said: "The unit proactively monitors the local situation, strengthens coordination with the commune police and other forces stationed in the area to effectively combat and prevent drug crimes and other types of crimes. Since the beginning of the year, the unit has led and coordinated with other forces to arrest 8 cases involving 10 suspects; seized 34 kg of methamphetamine, 2 blocks of heroin, 13,925 synthetic drug pills, 1 military firearm, and other related evidence."
In addition, the officers and soldiers of the Border Guard Post also coordinate and organize many social welfare programs and charitable activities, contributing to strengthening the bond between the military and the people and building national unity in the border region. Currently, the unit is sponsoring 10 students through the "Helping Children Go to School - Children Adopted by the Border Guard Post" program, with a support level of 500,000 VND/month/child; and supporting 17 students under the "Army Officers and Soldiers Helping Children Go to School" project. Every year, they maintain the "Spring Border Guard Program: Warming the Hearts of the People," distributing thousands of gifts to poor households, families with preferential policies, and students in difficult circumstances in the two border communes; the "Rice Jar of Compassion" and "Accompanying Women in Border Areas" models continue to be effectively maintained, helping many families overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.

The practical and compassionate actions of the officers and soldiers of Chieng Son Border Guard Station have contributed to strengthening the people's trust, building increasingly strong military-civilian solidarity, creating a combined strength to maintain sovereignty, protect national border security, and contribute to building a peaceful Chieng Son border area.
