These days, as the whole country joyfully celebrates the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd, the vibrant red of the national flag flutters throughout Thai Nguyen. In this festive atmosphere, we met young tailor Nguyen Van Anh, who had sewn 80 scarves featuring a golden star on a national flag background to give to customers on National Day.

Mr. Nguyen Van Anh and his group of friends selected the fabric and designed a meaningful gift.

More than just a gift, these scarves evoke in each citizen a sense of pride in their country, in the sacrifices of their ancestors, and in the aspiration to continue the glorious traditions of the nation.

Holding the scarf with the five-pointed golden star that she had just received, 81-year-old Mrs. Nguyen Thi Van from Phan Dinh Phung ward was moved : "Today, holding this scarf with the golden star on the background of the national flag, I feel very proud. Having gone through many periods of our nation's history, even at my age, I deeply appreciate and cherish the great sacrifices of the soldiers so that our country could have peace today. The national flag is not only a sacred symbol, but also reminds me of patriotism and national pride."

Ms. Vân's sharing is a testament to the spiritual value that the national flag brings - a symbol that connects generations, evokes historical memories, and awakens patriotism in every Vietnamese heart.

The idea of ​​sewing scarves to give to the people originated from Mr. Nguyen Van Anh (Phan Dinh Phung ward) after watching the parade and march commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) in Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Nguyen Van Anh shared: "Watching the parade, I clearly saw the pride of the Vietnamese people. From that feeling, we came up with the idea of ​​giving customers scarves with a golden star on a red background of the national flag, made from soft silk fabric and entirely handmade. The gift not only provides comfort when worn, but also conveys our love for our country. Every time I look at the flag, I think of the sacrifices of our ancestors to win independence and unify the country. When I give the scarves to people and see them cherish and love the gift, I feel extremely proud."

Ms. Doan Thi Phuong Ly (Linh Son ward) , one of the young people who received the scarf, said that this gift was very appropriate and meaningful on the occasion of National Day .

I hope that young people will all own at least one item bearing the image of the yellow star to spread the spirit of national pride to everyone and to international friends,” Ms. Phuong Ly expressed.
