Contribute to spreading national pride

These days, when the whole country is joyfully looking forward to the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, on all the streets of Thai Nguyen, the red color of the national flag is flying brightly. In that bustling atmosphere, we met young tailor Nguyen Van Anh, who personally sewed 80 scarves with the shape of a yellow star on the background of the national flag to give to customers on the occasion of National Day.

Mr. Nguyen Van Anh and his group of friends choose fabric samples and designs for meaningful gifts.

Not just a gift, these scarves also evoke in each citizen pride in the country, in the sacrifices of previous generations and the desire to continue the heroic tradition of the nation.

Holding the scarf with the five-pointed yellow star that she had just received, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Van, 81 years old, in Phan Dinh Phung ward, was moved : Today, when I hold the scarf with the yellow star on the national flag, I am very proud. Having gone through many historical periods of the nation, despite my old age, I am more deeply aware of and appreciate the great sacrifices of the soldiers so that the country can have peace today. The national flag is not only a sacred symbol, but also reminds me of patriotism and national pride.

Ms. Van's sharing is a testament to the spiritual value that the national flag brings - a symbol that connects generations, recalls historical memories, and arouses patriotism in every Vietnamese heart.

The idea of making scarves to give to people came from Mr. Nguyen Van Anh (Phan Dinh Phung ward) after watching the parade to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) in Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Nguyen Van Anh shared: Watching the parade, I clearly saw the pride of the children of Vietnam. From that feeling, we came up with the idea of giving customers scarves with the shape of a yellow star on the red background of the national flag, made from soft linen and completely hand-sewn. The gift not only creates a comfortable feeling when worn, but also conveys our love for the Fatherland. Every time I look at the flag, I think of the sacrifices of our ancestors to gain independence and unify the country. When I give scarves to people and see them cherish and love the gift, I feel extremely proud.

Not only the giver, but also the recipient has special feelings for that gift.

Ms. Doan Thi Phuong Ly (Linh Son ward) , one of the young people who received the scarf, said that this gift is very suitable and meaningful on the occasion of National Day .

Any item - whether it is a scarf, a shirt or a small item - if it bears the image of the red flag has great meaning. I hope that young people will own at least one item bearing the image of the yellow star to spread the spirit of national pride to everyone and international friends” - Ms. Phuong Ly expressed.

The story of 80 scarves with five-pointed yellow stars on a red flag background reflects a beautiful trend among young people - finding close, creative ways to express patriotism. The gifts not only brighten up the streets during the holidays, but also contribute to fostering and nurturing love for the homeland and national pride in every Vietnamese person.
