As soon as the car stopped at the Dong Giang Commune Cultural Center, the atmosphere became lively. Many children eagerly ran after the women from the Commune Women's Union to welcome the delegation. The eager eyes of the children and the gentle smiles of the women and mothers from the ethnic minority community seemed to soften the heat of the mountainous region.
The atmosphere of the meeting quickly became warm with sincere greetings and friendly handshakes. The sun-tanned faces of the members and the children from the ethnic minority community shone with joy at receiving the care and support from the women's association. Ms. K'Thi Hiem expressed: "We are very happy to receive the women's association's attention. Not only did they give gifts, but they also inquired about our lives, encouraged us to work hard, and reminded our children and grandchildren to study."
Dong Giang is home to a large population of the K'ho ethnic minority. Although living standards are improving, many families still face difficulties, especially single mothers and children from poor and near-poor households. To date, out of 64 poor households in the commune, 50 are headed by women.

Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc Yen, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Ham Thang Ward, said: The activity of giving gifts to women and children in Dong Giang commune was implemented by the Women's Union of Ham Thang Ward within the framework of the "Accompanying Women in Border Areas" program launched by the higher-level Women's Union. This is not only a practical social welfare activity, but also a continuation of the close relationship between the women's unions of the two localities built before the administrative merger.
Accordingly, in 2026, the Ham Thang Women's Union implemented two programs in Dong Giang. The delegation brought nearly 200 gifts, including essential household items, confectionery, milk, and cash, to women, students, and elderly people in difficult circumstances. Although resources were limited, it is hoped that this will be a source of encouragement and create a sense of connection and sharing so that these women are not left behind.
From that meaningful trip, not only the recipients but also the members and women in the delegation felt more deeply the value of sharing. Because sometimes, simple acts stemming from the heart have a great ripple effect. It was the joy of children when they received better learning opportunities, and the confidence of women in mountainous regions when they received care and support.

Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc Yen further informed that the Women's Union of the ward is developing a plan to renew the cooperation program with the Women's Union of Dong Giang commune to maintain and enhance the effectiveness of this close relationship. And the charitable journeys will continue to roll, extending the path of accompanying women in border areas.
Beyond simply providing material support, the program has become a bridge, conveying the affection and sharing of women from the delta region to women and children in ethnic minority communities who still face many difficulties, helping them to improve their lives.
