Share 1K meal
From March 2025 to now, every Sunday, Mr. Tanh and the Youth Union members of the Provincial Youth Union have maintained the "1K Meal (1,000 VND)" at hospitals in Rach Gia ward, contributing to supporting patients and the disadvantaged. Up to now, this practical model has been implemented and donated more than 2,000 meals to the hands of poor workers, patients in difficult circumstances, relatives and patients being treated at Kien Giang Oncology Hospital, Kien Giang Traditional Medicine Hospital. Through the model, not only does it support practical meals, contributing to reducing the burden of living for beneficiaries, but it also strongly spreads the message of humanity in the community "Giving is not only a meal, but also sharing and belief in life".
The model attracted the active participation of more than 200 union members, young people and many benefactors. Each meal costs only 1,000 VND, but the value given is priceless. Those are smiles, are warmth in the midst of difficult days. Mr. Tanh shared: “I always want to realize meaningful activities to support the community, especially those in difficult circumstances. The model "1K Meal" was born to share with patients and relatives at hospitals who face the burden of living expenses when receiving inpatient treatment. With only 1,000 VND, patients and relatives can receive a nutritious meal, which partly motivates them during the treatment process."
Responsibility to the community
As the successor, in charge of Kien Giang Blood Bank Club from 2022, Mr. Tanh maintains and develops, promotes the propaganda of the meaning of the voluntary blood donation movement on social networks. Through activities, more than 20,000 members and young people have been propagandized about voluntary blood donation. Mr. Tanh always determines that the voluntary blood donation movement does not stop at slogans but will become actions, the responsibility of every young person. Mr. Tanh boldly applies science and technology to improve the quality of propaganda as well as attract volunteers to participate by creating QR codes on posters, posters, keychains, etc.
Members and young people can easily scan the QR code with their smartphones to learn more about the programs and activities of the Kien Giang Blood Bank Club. At the same time, they should update members' personal information so that they can be contacted when necessary, ensuring the health of blood donors and the quality of donated blood for recipients. Currently, the Club has over 1,000 regular blood donors.
Mr. Tanh shared: “I always keep in mind Uncle Ho's teachings: “Whatever is beneficial to the people, we must do our best. Whatever is harmful to the people, we must avoid at all costs”, “A living example is worth more than a hundred propaganda speeches”, “There is nothing small if we do it with all our heart”…”. Therefore, Mr. Tanh always strives to do small things, but brings benefits to the community. “1K meals” help people in difficult circumstances to be full; each drop of volunteer blood helps save a life, these are specific, silent, persistent, but practical actions that spread love, which are the most sincere way for Mr. Tanh to learn and follow Uncle Ho. In 2025, Mr. Tanh also launched the activity “Giving gifts to street sweepers and lottery ticket sellers in difficult circumstances on New Year's Eve” and was widely responded to and participated in by union members and young people. The event took place on New Year's Eve and delivered more than 200 gifts, including necessities, Tet gifts and lucky money envelopes, to hard-working workers, garbage collectors, lottery ticket sellers and homeless people who are still struggling to make a living.
Through each model and activity, with that practical approach, Mr. Tanh contributes to spreading the spirit of mutual love to union members and young people. At the same time, he strengthens solidarity in the community and contributes to raising each individual's awareness of responsibility to society.
