Hanoi: Many historical sites and scenic spots open spring festivals.

On February 22nd, which is the 6th day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Horse 2026, a series of major festivals in Hanoi will simultaneously commence.

At the Hai Ba Trung Temple, a special national historical site in Me Linh commune, a solemn ceremony was held to commemorate the 1,986th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung Uprising and to inaugurate the Hai Ba Trung Temple Festival. Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan attended and offered incense.

In his opening remarks, the leader of Me Linh commune emphasized that 1,986 years ago, from this historical land, the Trung Sisters raised the banner of rebellion, driving out the Eastern Han army and ushering in the first period of national independence in history. The spirit of Me Linh in the spring of 40 AD has become an immortal symbol of indomitable will, fostering patriotism, self-reliance, and self-strength in today's generations.

At the same time, at the Huong Son historical and scenic site, the opening ceremony of the 2026 Huong Pagoda Tourism Festival took place solemnly in the courtyard of Thien Tru Pagoda. Speaking at the ceremony, the leader of the Hanoi People's Committee emphasized that Huong Pagoda is not only a religious space but also a special cultural heritage that needs to be preserved and promoted harmoniously, balancing tourism development with the preservation of traditional values...

At the Co Loa National Special Historical Site, the Spring Festival of the Year of the Horse 2026 was also solemnly inaugurated. This year's festival is associated with the "digital traditional festival space" model, applying QR codes, digitizing documents, and multi-platform communication, contributing to spreading the value of heritage to a wide audience, especially the younger generation.

Also on the morning of February 22nd, at the Soc Temple National Special Historical Site, the 2026 Giong Festival at Soc Temple opened with solemn processions and rituals.
