Many areas in Chuong My District (Hanoi) will experience power outages on June 13th.

In Thai Nguyen , the updated power outage schedule for June 13th on the Thai Nguyen Power Company's website shows 26 planned power interruptions.

Approximately 10 areas experienced power outages for repairs and maintenance of power lines and substations to prevent overloading. Due to extreme hot weather, the increased electricity demand caused localized overloading, and the remaining areas had to reduce or halt power supply to prevent system failures.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) reported that, as of June 11th, many large hydropower plants in the North had exceeded their dead water levels but had decreased by 26% compared to June 10th. According to calculations, the total unutilized capacity from the Son La, Lai Chau, Ban Chat, Huoi Quang, Tuyen Quang, Thac Ba, Hua Na, and Ban Ve hydropower plants amounts to 5,000 MW.

Due to a shortage of electricity supply amidst very high demand, on June 11th, power companies in the North implemented a reduction of approximately 2,744 MW, which is why many areas continued to experience power outages.

According to an update from EVN, after a period of repairs and troubleshooting, starting today, June 13th, Unit S2 (capacity 13 million kWh) of the Thai Binh Thermal Power Plant and Unit S1 (capacity 7 million kWh/day) of the Nghi Son Thermal Power Plant have resumed operation. Accordingly, these two units will add 20 million kWh/day to the Northern power grid, helping to alleviate the electricity shortage in the North.
