Offering tourists a rustic destination, reliable travel advice, and unique experiences from immersing themselves in and learning about local culture... this is a distinctive and innovative feature of Halo Bay family homestay in the heart of Ha Long City.
Halo Bay homestay is a beautiful and peaceful place located at 73 Kenh Liem Street, Bach Dang Ward, Ha Long City, in an area close to the city center. Unlike the bustling and noisy city streets, this destination offers visitors a sense of peace, tranquility, and intimacy as they step into its charming little alleyway.

Sharing about her family's homestay, Ms. Do Thi Thu Hien, who has many years of experience in the tourism industry, said: "Although it's six years old, our family homestay only reopened in 2022. After the Covid-19 pandemic, tourism has developed even more, and independent travel has become a trend. The demand for experiences from tourists has increased, leading to changes in homestay services."
Having been involved in the tourism industry for many years, I've noticed a recent trend where tourists want to experience local culture, learn about and immerse themselves in local life when visiting the beautiful city of Ha Long. Therefore, aiming to create a friendly and trustworthy atmosphere, this destination focuses on freedom, friendliness, and experiencing local life and culture, as well as providing exciting trips for tourists – fulfilling their desire for a homestay experience.
Accordingly, the homestay owners personally design and decorate the space, creating a friendly, unique, and distinctive atmosphere down to the smallest details, adding a touch of familiarity and making guests feel right at home. Taking a stroll around the homestay, guests are quite impressed with the spatial arrangement. Every detail evokes a sense of simplicity and friendliness, such as the garden, small bamboo groves, miniature fish ponds, ornamental plants, and flowers placed in front of the yard...

What's interesting here is the reception area, where guests can experience the atmosphere of a large local family. The multi-story house offers a variety of rooms, ranging from 15 to 45 square meters, accommodating solo travelers, families, or groups of up to 20 guests. Each room is designed with a focus on space and greenery, featuring small potted plants hanging on the walls and placed in various locations inside and outside the room. The rooms have large windows, prioritizing natural light. In front of the house is a spacious yard of about 150-200 square meters, ample for barbecues and outdoor activities.
However, the biggest advantage of Halo Bay homestay comes from the friendliness and hospitality of Ms. Hien, the owner. She always takes the time to participate in tours and provides free introductions to Ha Long City for tourists who want to explore its culture, historical sites such as temples and pagodas, or learn about the daily lives of the local people.

Moreover, homestays are also reliable destinations and travel service providers for Vietnamese tourists. With decades of experience in the tourism industry, Ms. Hien provides useful information and reasonable prices for visiting Ha Long, helping to avoid price gouging. She also dedicates her time to accompanying and guiding guests on how to go to the market, provides cooking facilities, teaches how to prepare typical seafood dishes, and arranges tours to lesser-known historical sites such as the Dang Ba Hat artillery battleground, Hon Gai ancient town, and the French colonial period.
It is through these real-life experiences that not only tourists but also hosts can share and exchange knowledge about the beauty and culture of different localities and countries, thereby creating a stronger bond of friendship despite differences in language, culture, or skin color.
“In Ha Long, beyond Ha Long Bay and the modern city, hidden deep within our homeland are still core cultural values, a tranquil pace of life, and hospitality that we need to share with friends from all over the world. Through this, we hope that tourists will gain a deeper understanding and love for this land,” Ms. Hien shared.
