Joining hands for the poor - Leaving no one behind
Caring for the poor has become a message of compassion, sharing, understanding and determination to act so that "no one is left behind". Responding to the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - No one is left behind" of the Prime Minister and the call of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, in recent times, the Party Committee, the government, the Front and member organizations in the province have had many practical and meaningful activities to arouse the spirit of solidarity "the rich help the poor" of the nation to create resources to help and care for the poor, contributing to the effective implementation of social security policies and the goal of sustainable poverty reduction of the province. Activities to care for the material and spiritual lives of the poor and vulnerable are focused on and promoted during the annual "For the Poor" peak month (from October 17 to November 18).
Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Le Cong Cuong said: “From the peak month of “For the Poor” in 2023 to August 2024, through the “For the Poor” Fund, the Front at all levels has carried out many meaningful and practical activities to care for the poor with a total amount of over 23.6 billion VND. Accordingly, support for building and repairing 357 houses for poor, near-poor households, families in especially difficult circumstances; supporting livelihoods for over 1,000 poor, near-poor households, policy families, families in difficult circumstances; visiting, giving gifts on holidays, Tet and other support to thousands of people... Localities have done a good job of mobilizing the “For the Poor” Fund, such as: Bo Trach over 5.7 billion VND, Le Thuy over 3.6 billion VND, Dong Hoi City over 3.3 billion VND, Tuyen Hoa 3 billion VND, Quang Ninh over 2.6 billion VND”...

Responding to the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor - No one is left behind", member organizations in the Provincial Fatherland Front have also promoted the work of caring for the poor and social security with many practical activities. The total budget from fund sources, social security sources of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and socialized sources of member organizations in the province to support union members, members, poor households, poor communities, and households in difficult circumstances from the peak month "For the poor" in 2023 to present is over 160 billion VND.

Starting to implement, the grassroots Front cadres and the Front Working Committee of residential areas went to each house, checked each subject, determined the circumstances of each household to have a suitable plan in supporting the “Great Unity” houses. The grassroots Front mobilized families to proactively prepare land, human resources, and part of the funding source to build houses, ensuring the minimum needs of the family. Over the past 5 years, from the "For the Poor" Fund at the district and commune levels and the socialized resources mobilized by member organizations with a total budget of over 30.7 billion VND, Le Thuy district has focused on caring for the poor and implementing social security programs, helping hundreds of households escape poverty. With practical and effective methods, the Fatherland Front at all levels and member organizations have made an important contribution to the implementation of the poverty reduction program in Le Thuy district. Up to now, the whole district still has 1,893 poor households, accounting for 4.47% and 1,452 near-poor households, accounting for 3.34%.

In Quang Ninh district, the "For the poor" activities and the social security program continue to be innovated and operate effectively. Over the past 5 years, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the district has mobilized over 4.5 billion VND to support the “For the Poor” Fund and over 7.3 billion VND to support social security programs. From mobilized sources, the locality supported the construction and repair of 153 “Great Solidarity” houses with a total value of over 8.7 billion VND; visited, gave gifts, and supported production development for thousands of poor households and poor students... The mobilized resources and the process of organizing and providing support to the poor were publicized and publicized in the mass media.
Sharing experiences in propaganda work, mobilizing people of all walks of life to unite and join hands to care for the poor, implement social security, and sustainably reduce poverty in the locality, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cu Nam Commune (Bo Trach) Nguyen Thanh Hung said: “Every year, the Commune Front participates in reviewing poor and near-poor households in the area, identifying the causes of poverty to have practical support solutions to help people escape poverty. From there, assign specific tasks to member organizations to help poor and near-poor households develop production; coordinate with the Commune People's Committee to effectively implement the project of diversifying livelihoods and developing poverty reduction models.
Currently, a number of livelihood models guided and implemented by the Commune Front are proving effective, helping many households escape poverty. From 2019 to present, the Front has mobilized the construction and effective implementation of the “For the Poor” Fund, actively connecting with organizations and philanthropists to present more than 600 gifts to poor households, those with difficult family circumstances, and poor students who have overcome difficulties with a value of over 400 million VND; mobilized and mobilized resources to build new and repair “Great Solidarity” houses for poor households with a total cost of over 2.7 billion VND.
