Combining traditional folk dances with modern dance moves, folk dance is attracting more and more people to participate in practicing it. Through these dances, folk dance also helps people socialize and strengthen community bonds.

In recent years, folk dance has become an indispensable part of people's cultural life. Combining traditional folk dances with the powerful movements of modern sports , folk dance is not only a form of exercise but also a bridge that brings people closer together, contributing to the preservation and promotion of cultural values. In particular, folk dance helps relieve stress, improve health, and connect the community, thereby creating a joyful, vibrant, and memorable atmosphere in every activity.

Recently, the 2025 Dĩ An City Folk Dance, Rhythmic Gymnastics, and Line Dance Competition was successfully held, attracting nearly 400 contestants from 29 teams. This was one of the activities organized by the Dĩ An City Cultural, Information, and Sports Center. The event aimed to enhance the cultural and spiritual life of the people and create a celebratory atmosphere for many important events in 2025.

In a vibrant atmosphere, the participating teams presented outstanding folk dance performances. One of the most impressive teams was the Folk Dance Team from Group 29, Thong Nhat 1 residential area, Di An ward, led by team captain Nguyen Thi Van. Ms. Van said that the team had practiced diligently for a month to prepare for their performance of "Liberating the South." With dances recreating the spirited scenes of our army and people towards the liberation of the South, the team conveyed a message calling for patriotism and the enthusiasm of young people in the cause of protecting and building the country.

Another team that made a strong impression was the Red Rose Group from Tan Hiep neighborhood, with their performance "Youth of the Ho Chi Minh Generation." Group leader Le Thi Loan shared: "Although we are all middle-aged workers, through our evening practice sessions, we not only improve our health but also feel the joy and youthful energy in each dance. Through this performance, we hope to send a message about the enthusiasm and dedication of the younger generation."

This year's competition created a valuable platform, not only for teams to showcase their abilities but also to bring people closer together. Mr. Nguyen Truong Chinh, Deputy Director of the Culture, Information and Sports Center of Di An City, stated that the 2025 Folk Dance - Rhythmic Gymnastics - Line Dance Competition is an activity that both promotes physical fitness and demonstrates team spirit and self-confidence in group activities. This cultural and sporting event contributes to creating a vibrant atmosphere in the community.

Meanwhile, Mr. Tran Hung, a referee and coach in Dancesport and international ballroom dancing, commented that this year's competition had a high professional quality with many performances that were meticulously staged and meaningful. "The folk dance movement in Di An City is developing strongly, attracting many people to participate. I hope that in the future there will be more exchange and learning activities between the competing teams so that the movement will develop even more strongly," Mr. Tran Hung added.

With the continuous development of sports and cultural activities like these, Di An City will increasingly become a shining example in building the cultural and spiritual life of its people; at the same time, creating conditions for each individual and community to become more connected and develop more strongly.

In the competition results, the Black Panther Team won first prize. Second prize went to the Forever Young Folk Dance Team (Tay B neighborhood, Dong Hoa ward). Third prize went to the RBC Team. In addition, the organizing committee also awarded 7 consolation prizes to teams with high achievements in the competition; the Choreography prize went to the Black Panther Team and the Style prize to the Le Phong Folk Dance Team.
