The Provincial People's Council holds a mid-term review meeting.

On January 30th, the 11th Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026, held a mid-term review meeting. Comrade Pham Van Hau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, presided over the meeting. Attending the meeting were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Tran Minh Luc, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Long Bien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and other members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and heads of the Provincial People's Council committees.

Over the past half-term, the Provincial People's Council has continuously innovated and improved the quality of its operations, fulfilling its functions and duties in accordance with the law and the programs and plans set forth, making a significant contribution to socio -economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the province. The People's Council sessions have been improved, organized promptly, and of high quality. Since the beginning of the term, the Provincial People's Council has held 16 sessions, considering and approving 314 resolutions in the fields of socio-economic development, local government building, and personnel decisions within its authority. Supervisory activities have become more in-depth, diverse in form, and at multiple levels. The Standing Committee and committees of the Provincial People's Council have conducted 21 thematic supervisions; through the sessions, 5 questioning sessions have been held with 7 heads of departments and agencies; and discussions and explanations have been held in the assembly hall.

The organization of voter outreach and citizen engagement has been carried out in accordance with legal regulations, becoming increasingly innovative and effective, especially in addressing voter opinions, suggestions, and complaints and denunciations from citizens. Delegation groups and individual members of the Provincial People's Council have effectively played their role as representatives of the people, strengthening practical surveys. The Provincial People's Council, in coordination with the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, organized 12 voter outreach sessions before and after each session; and held a thematic voter outreach session on "Promoting the effective implementation of policies for agricultural development and farmers in Ninh Thuan province." Through these sessions, 894 opinions and suggestions within the provincial jurisdiction were received. Coordination between the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee, and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, has become increasingly emphasized and close, significantly contributing to improving the quality of the People's Council's activities and effectively resolving issues that serve the socio-economic development of the locality.

In his concluding remarks at the conference, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council commended the achievements of the Provincial People's Council in the first half of its term. He stated that 2024 is a year of "acceleration" to achieve the development goals set forth in the Resolution of the 14th Provincial Party Congress and the 2021-2025 Five-Year Plan. He requested that the Standing Committee, the committees, the delegate groups, and each delegate of the Provincial People's Council further enhance their roles and responsibilities, and act decisively to effectively implement the programs and plans set forth by the Provincial People's Council, focusing on several important tasks: Continuing to thoroughly understand the viewpoints, policies, and guidelines of the Party, the laws and policies of the State, and the goals, orientations, and development plans of the locality to better perform their assigned functions and tasks. The People's Council must play a crucial role in reforming local governance towards a modern, effective, and efficient approach, focusing on development management; Ensuring the supremacy of the constitution and laws, enhancing transparency, accountability, and citizen participation; contributing to building a people-serving, democratic, rule-of-law, professional, modern, scientific , clean, open, and transparent administration; upholding the spirit of serving the people and creating a favorable environment for businesses to produce and operate. Researching and issuing resolutions on the organization and implementation of resolutions of the People's Council; improving the quality of resolutions of the People's Council. Developing and organizing appropriate, rigorous, and effective monitoring programs. Further enhancing the role, responsibility, capacity, and prestige of People's Council representatives, closely linked to improving the quality of activities of People's Council representative groups.

At the conference, the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of commendation from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 8 collectives and 14 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the mid-term activities of the 11th Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026.
