The image of Xuan Son celebrating is vividly carved on wood.

In recognition of the talent and contributions that player Nguyen Xuan Son has made in recent matches for the Vietnam national team, a fan in Quoc Oai ( Hanoi ) and his colleagues created a very vivid wooden sculpture, based on the image of player Xuan Son celebrating a goal.

Sharing with reporters, Mr. Bui Trong Quan (Moc Than Craft Village, Quoc Oai, Hanoi) - the person who created the above sculpture said that he and his colleagues focused on making it and spent 1 week to complete this work, right on the day of the first leg of the final match of ASEAN Cup 2024 between Vietnam and Thailand (January 2, 2025).

The work is crafted on a block of Chun Chong Red Wood, a position with very good wood quality on a tree. The work is 50cm in diameter and 6cm thick.

According to Mr. Quan, he and his colleagues meticulously studied every angle of the player's face, from there they better understood the expressions and movements of the facial muscles and transferred them into a wood painting.

“The most difficult part of a portrait work is the facial expression and the spirit and uniqueness of each character, requiring the artist to put his own emotions into the process. Those are the eyes, the smile, the freshness, the generosity, the freedom… All of these things only appear in a moment and we need to capture this moment to be able to convey and put our soul into each chiseled stroke,” said Bui Trong Quan.

Anh Quan also shared that Vietnamese football fans are considered the most football-loving people in the world . Football helps people to be happier, more united, and understand each other better. Football even helps people to be stronger and more excited to overcome difficulties in work and life.

“Above all, this is the sentiment of the Vietnamese people, always showing hospitality. We consider Xuan Son as a true Vietnamese person. This is also the mark of traditional Vietnamese handicraft, not only making sophisticated floral objects but also conveying the characters very delicately,” Mr. Bui Trong Quan shared.

Anh Quan also hopes that this sculpture will be a spiritual gift for player Nguyen Xuan Son to be ready to compete with the Vietnamese national team to win the highest position at the ASEAN Cup 2024 and other tournaments in the future.

The first leg of the 2024 ASEAN Cup final between Vietnam and Thailand will take place at 8:00 p.m. on January 2 at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho province), live onFPT Television.
