In Dam Doi district, women account for nearly 50% of the total population, with nearly 26,000 members participating in 571 groups and 132 branches across 16 communes and towns.

Implementing the sustainable poverty reduction program, the "Supporting women in creative entrepreneurship and family economic development" activities for members have seen women's associations at all levels in the district implement many solutions, yielding practical results. Building livelihood models is considered one of the positive solutions, thereby providing many opportunities for women to escape poverty.

Many households with women actively engaged in production have now achieved economic stability and risen out of poverty. Many households with women actively engaged in production have now achieved economic stability and risen out of poverty.

A notable achievement is the development and expansion of livestock and poultry farming models, helping members increase their income and stabilize their lives. To effectively implement this model, the Women's Union has intensified its efforts to promote and encourage members to invest boldly in economic development. The District Women's Union has chosen to organize members into production groups with specific operating regulations, guidance, and training in farming techniques, fostering linkages among members to create stable employment for women. Accordingly, the Women's Union at all levels has established 2 cooperatives for raising commercial chickens, 2 cooperatives for raising pigs; 14 women's group models for raising pigs, Muscovy ducks, civets, hybrid fighting chickens, and many models of member families raising ducks, pigs, chickens, etc. These models have helped women earn income year-round.

Ms. Lu Hoang Nghiem, from Tan Long hamlet, Tan Duyet commune, a poor female member of the women's association, has achieved a stable family life thanks to support in terms of capital, livestock, and her own determination to improve her situation.

In addition, to create outlets for their products, the Women's Union in communes and towns is currently implementing the "One Product Per Period" program on its Facebook page. Products and models created by the women are posted and promoted on the page, including information about the products, addresses, and phone numbers so that customers can easily contact them when needed.

Furthermore, the Women's Union actively collaborates with relevant departments and non-governmental projects to provide training in livestock science and technology for its members; and facilitates access to preferential interest rate loans for its members through the District Social Policy Bank. Savings models developed and organized by women have been quite successful. Through these models, women can both save on household expenses and have the opportunity to borrow low-interest capital from savings groups to invest in economic development models. To date, the outstanding loan balance facilitated by the District Women's Union at the District Social Policy Bank has reached over 192 billion VND, with 174 savings groups run by women members.

“Through livestock and poultry farming models that bring high economic efficiency to women members, we have been creating opportunities for many members to have stable jobs, improving their material and spiritual lives, contributing to promoting the movements, campaigns and tasks of the Women's Union to develop further, meeting the aspirations of all strata of women, and raising the status of women in the family and in society. The Women's Union of Dam Doi district will continue to support women in developing family economies; reviewing, classifying and understanding the needs of members to have appropriate support solutions for each target group,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Mau, Vice President of the Women's Union of Dam Doi district.
