Hoa Phat reaches the milestone of 15 million tons of HRC.
Of that total, the HRC1 plant in the Hoa Phat Dung Quat 1 Iron and Steel Complex produced over 13.5 million tons. The HRC2 plant in the Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Iron and Steel Complex contributed nearly 1.5 million tons.
From the beginning of the second quarter to September 2025, blast furnaces No. 1 and No. 2 of the Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 Iron and Steel Complex project will successively come into operation, marking the synchronous completion of the project. The output of the entire Hoa Phat Dung Quat Complex will record rapid growth in the coming period.
Hoa Phat Dung Quat 2 utilizes technology lines from European and G7 partners, such as blower furnaces (BOF) and RH vacuum refining furnaces from SMS (Germany), Primetals thick-plate casting machines (UK), and blast furnaces (BF) from Danieli Corus (Netherlands). Hoa Phat invests in modern technology following a closed-loop system, recovering all waste heat and utilizing excess coal gas from iron and steel production as fuel for boilers to generate electricity. This equipment system aims to achieve the highest product quality, ensuring that all critical production stages are operated optimally, in the most environmentally friendly way, and at the lowest production cost.
Proud to be the only Vietnamese enterprise capable of producing HRC, Hoa Phat has supplied the market with a diverse range of HRC products in various widths and thicknesses to meet customer needs. Hoa Phat's HRC products meet a series of stringent global standards such as JIS, MS, SAE, BS, EN… and have been awarded CE Marking – a quality certification considered a "passport" when exporting to Europe.

Hoa Phat utilizes modern technology lines with thick steel plate casting machines from Primetals (UK).
HRC is an important industrial steel product, serving as a foundation and input material for many manufacturing industries such as galvanized steel sheets, steel pipes, container shells, automobile manufacturing, shipbuilding, oil and gas, mechanical engineering, household appliances, steel structures, and energy.
Besides its standard product lines, the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Iron and Steel Complex is currently researching and producing high-grade HRC (High-Strength Concrete) products. Hoa Phat Dung Quat has successfully conducted trial production of steel products for the household appliance and automotive body industries, using IF steel grades (Intensely Deformable Steel for automotive bodies, household appliances, furniture, etc.) such as DD and EDD. Steel grades for the oil and gas industry include API J55, API X42, API X50, API X60, and API X70. Steel for the automotive industry – for car frames and industrial machinery – includes S355MC, S420MC, S500MC, S600MC, S650MC, and S700MC. High-strength structural steel grades include S355JR/J0/J2, Q355B/C/D, etc.
Currently, Hoa Phat is continuing to research and collaborate closely with domestic and foreign partners to develop other high-end product lines such as steel for the automotive industry, electrical engineering steel (DP, Martensite, M15, M19, M22, M36, M43 grades...).
Hoa Phat Group is the largest steel producer in Southeast Asia, equivalent to the top 30 largest steel companies in the world. From 2026, Hoa Phat's steel production capacity will reach 16 million tons/year, including 9 million tons of HRC steel, a high-quality steel, contributing to meeting the needs of both domestic and international markets.
