The 2023 Emmy Awards, originally scheduled for September, may be postponed due to ongoing strikes in Hollywood.

Actors and writers working in Hollywood are currently participating in the first major strike in the industry in 63 years. Stars will be unable to attend the Emmy Awards if the strike continues into the awards ceremony, as this would significantly impact television viewership. Writers will also be unable to write scripts for the host and guest speakers at the event.
Fox, the broadcaster of this year's Emmy Awards, requested a postponement until January 2024 due to concerns that the strike might not be resolved anytime soon. The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the organization that selects and hosts the awards, agreed to postpone the ceremony, but not until January 2024, as that would be in the middle of the Hollywood awards season.
