2023 Emmy Awards Postponed

The 2023 Emmy Awards were scheduled to take place in September, but may be postponed due to the ongoing strikes in Hollywood, the US.

Hollywood actors and writers are currently on strike, the first major industry strike in 63 years. Stars will not be able to attend the Emmys if the strike continues during the ceremony, as it would severely impact television viewership. Writers will also not be able to write scripts for the hosts and guest speakers.

Fox, which airs this year’s Emmy Awards, has proposed postponing the ceremony until January 2024, fearing that the strike will be difficult to resolve. The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, which selects and hosts the awards, has agreed to postpone the ceremony, but not until January 2024, which is in the middle of Hollywood’s awards season.
