"Children must receive a proper education."

The family of Mr. Nguyen Van Kiet and Ms. Ngo Thi Xiu (Hamlet 7, Nam Can Commune) is classified as a poor household with no land for production. For many years, the couple relied on construction work, moving from place to place. Four years ago, misfortune struck when Ms. Xiu was diagnosed with multiple illnesses: heart disease, goiter, and kidney disease. Before they could find a way to cope, while working on a construction project in Ho Chi Minh City, she had an accident, falling from scaffolding and breaking her leg, which worsened her condition and depleted their meager savings for treatment.

Despite her frail health, every morning Ms. Xíu still tries to wake up early, prepare meals for her children, and then go to work as a construction laborer with her husband. She shared: "I can endure any pain or exhaustion, as long as my children can go to school and don't have to drop out." Sharing the same sentiment, Mr. Kiệt affirmed: "Our lives as parents have been hard, so our children must receive a proper education so that they can have stable jobs and live happier lives. No matter how difficult it is, my wife and I will do our best to provide for our children's education, hoping that they will have the knowledge to change their lives."

Providing good care and education for children – nurturing the future of the nation.

It was in these difficult circumstances that the desire to learn of Nguyen Trong Tinh (10th grade) and Nguyen Hai Nam (6th grade) became even stronger. They always strived to excel, achieving many good results and nurturing their belief in a bright future. Trong Tinh confided: “I feel sorry for my parents’ hardships, so I have to study hard. I believe that only through education can my brother and I have a better future, making our parents happy.”

I admire this student who is building his own future.

Each example of a studious student is a heartwarming journey. In particular, the story of Nguyen Thanh Nghia (19 years old, Khanh Binh commune) who "supported himself while pursuing his education" is deeply moving.

Suffering from the rare disease "polycythemia vera," deprived of parental love from a young age, and raised in poverty by his grandparents, Nghia had to fend for himself early on. By the age of 14, he had worked various jobs, from helping out in restaurants to working as a shoe factory worker, often collapsing from exhaustion, but he never let adversity defeat him. On the contrary, Nghia diligently pursued his studies, consistently achieving the title of excellent student for many years and becoming a member of the award-winning student team of Ly Van Lam Secondary and High School (Ly Van Lam Ward).

"As long as I can go to school, I can endure any hardship. I believe that only with knowledge can I take control of my own life in the future," Nghia shared simply.

As a well-deserved reward for his persistent aspirations, in the 2025-2026 academic year, FPT Polytechnic Can Tho High School selected and supported Nghia's continued educational journey. He is currently a student in the 21st cohort, majoring in Business Administration, specializing in Digital Marketing – a new door opening for him, bringing him closer to his dream of changing his life through knowledge.

Nghia emotionally shared: “I am grateful to my teachers, friends, and kind-hearted people who have always supported me on my educational journey. Without their care and support, I would hardly have been able to get to where I am today. Although it has been difficult, I believe I have chosen the right path: Only education can help me change my life and become a useful person.”

Every day at school is one step closer to your dream.

Nghia's journey is not just the story of a poor student overcoming hardship, but also a profound message to young people: Be resilient in pursuing your educational dreams, because knowledge is the key to changing your destiny and building a bright future.

These small but inspiring stories reflect an enduring spirit of learning: no matter how poor one may be, literacy remains a guiding light.

This is not just encouragement, but also a reminder of the sacred mission of education: to nurture today's young generation into intelligent, capable citizens, strong enough to shoulder the nation's destiny. So that in 20 years, in 2045, the 100th anniversary of the nation's founding, today's students will enter the prime of their labor and creativity. They will be the engineers, doctors, scientists, managers, entrepreneurs, soldiers, teachers... who will contribute to shaping the face of the country.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year, General Secretary To Lam affirmed : “The older generation achieved victory with blood and sacrifice; today, in peace and integration, the responsibility of the younger generation is to achieve new victories with knowledge, courage, and creativity. Our Party has always considered education and training as a top national priority, a key driving force determining the future of the nation. More than ever, we must consider investing in education as investing in the future, in the sustainable development and strength of the country; calling on the entire Party, the entire people, the entire army, all levels, sectors, localities, every family, and every citizen to join hands in caring for the cause of nurturing future generations, for the future of our children, for the prosperity of the Fatherland, and for the happiness of the people.”
