Lai Chau Provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities has about 400 students who are children of ethnic minorities living in Lai Chau province: Thai, Tay, Nung, Dao, H'Mong, Giay, Lu, Kho Mu, Lo Lo, Ha Nhi...

Using watercolors, each group of students chose familiar or imaginative images of grandmothers, mothers, sisters... but all exuded a gentle, hard-working beauty.

Students also have the opportunity to share with teachers and friends their ideas, perspectives, and memories while drawing, spreading good emotions. According to teacher Nguyen Thanh Thanh, in charge of Fine Arts, many students show a talent for painting, with a good sense of shapes and colors.

Female student Lo Thi Ha Nhung (class 11B3) said that her painting was a portrait of a Dao ethnic girl in traditional costume, with the highlight being her eyes. Through the painting, the students wanted to express their gratitude to women, who not only play an important role in the family but are also the ones who preserve the cultural identity of their ethnic group.

As for Luong Thi Phuong Thuy, the painting is an image of her grandmother who passed away due to old age but is always in her heart with boundless love, care and affection. Vang A Phu, a H'Mong ethnic student, painted the painting to express gratitude to her grandmother and mother who worked hard to take care of the family, working day and night in the fields...

The paintings will be selected and displayed on campus, and sold, with a portion raised for the Art Club to go on field trips and support students in difficult circumstances...
