In recent times, youth union and association branches at all levels have proactively undertaken new and challenging tasks closely linked to the realities of the grassroots. For example, on May 12th, the Youth Union of Nhan Ly commune assisted the family of Mr. Linh Van Giang in Lang Chieng village in dismantling their house and relocating their belongings to hand over the land for the Huu Nghi Border Gate – Chi Lang expressway project. Prior to that, the commune's Youth Union also coordinated and provided labor and financial support to help the family of Mr. Vi Van Then in Hoa Muc village replace their temporary house.
Mr. Then shared: "I am deeply moved by the assistance from the Youth Union of Nhan Ly commune and the Youth Unions of Van Linh, Chi Lang, Chien Thang, and Quan Son communes in dismantling the old house and relocating our belongings; and also by the 5 million VND donated by the Youth Club of the University of Foreign Languages - Vietnam National University, Hanoi . This is a great source of encouragement for my family, helping us to complete our new house soon."
Not only in Nhan Ly, but also in other communes and wards, youth organizations and associations are demonstrating the spirit of following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings through their community activities.
Mr. Doan Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, and Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Union of the province, said: In implementing Conclusion No. 01 dated May 18, 2021, of the Politburo on continuing to promote the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style, the study and emulation of Uncle Ho has been implemented by all levels of the Youth Union and Youth Association through "following" which has become a regular and concrete action of each Youth Union member. Through this, it not only contributes to serving the overall socio-economic development but also creates an environment for Youth Union members to train, uphold a sense of responsibility, spread a beautiful lifestyle, and a sense of dedication to the community.
Accordingly, youth union and association branches at all levels in the province have maintained the organization of study sessions on the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh ; promoted propaganda on the internet; and organized activities to commemorate historical events and pay tribute to heroic martyrs… From 2024 to the present, the entire province has organized 1,050 propaganda and study sessions with 110,000 youth union members participating; and posted 42,000 meaningful news articles and stories on the internet, contributing to fostering revolutionary ideals and patriotism among youth union members.
Learning from and following President Ho Chi Minh's example is demonstrated in the pioneering role of young people in implementing new tasks of the province, especially participating in popularizing digital skills for the people in the current period. Youth organizations from the provincial to the commune level have established many shock teams to support the implementation of the two-tiered local government model; guiding people to use VNeID electronic identification accounts, online public services, cashless payments and digital platforms. In particular, in response to the movement to jointly eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, thousands of youth union members have participated in providing labor support, transporting materials, and helping people build new houses or repair existing ones. During periods of heavy rain, floods, and natural disasters, youth union members are also among the forces that arrive early in affected areas to support the transportation of essential goods, clean up mud and debris, and sanitize the environment, helping people to stabilize their lives as soon as possible.
Luong Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Yen Binh Commune Youth Union, said: "Following Uncle Ho's example in the most concrete ways, I and the Youth Union members promptly assisted people in relocating their belongings and clearing mud and debris during storms, as well as supporting disadvantaged families in building new houses or repairing existing ones. Through participating in assisting the people, the Youth Union members clearly understood their responsibility to the community, and thus actively participated in the activities of the Youth Union and other organizations."
In addition, youth organizations regularly carry out community-oriented activities such as building public works, caring for families of policy beneficiaries, poor children, and supporting disadvantaged youth through volunteer programs and campaigns throughout the year. From 2024 to the present, the entire province has seen more than 20,000 youth union members participate in volunteer activities; providing labor support for the construction of 2,589 new houses and the repair of 1,271 temporary or dilapidated houses; donating 19,500 social welfare gifts; providing free medical examinations and medicine to over 5,000 people; donating over 2,800 units of blood; constructing 44 projects to illuminate village roads, border roads, and bridges; and assisting over 80,000 people in accessing public services and digital skills.
Through specific movements and activities, the pioneering role and responsibility of young people are gradually affirmed, thereby spreading the spirit of living beautifully and usefully in the community.
