The University Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Science has dismissed Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi.

The School Council of the University of Science (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) has just announced the results of an extraordinary meeting with several agenda items, including the dismissal of Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi from his position as a member of the school council.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi's name has been removed from the school board list.

The University Council of the Faculty of Science (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) recently held an extraordinary meeting to consider dismissing Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi, former Party Secretary and Head of the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park, from his position as a member of the university council.

Previously, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Anh Thi was listed on the board of directors of the University of Science (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) as a board member; educator , scientist, and employer.

However, Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi's name is no longer listed among the school's board members on the school's website.

At the first extraordinary session of the 2020-2025 term, held on November 20th, the university council discussed and voted to dismiss Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Anh Thi from her position as a member of the university council of the University of Science (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City), in accordance with current regulations.

Therefore, based on the voting results of the school council members at the aforementioned meeting, the school council issued a resolution to dismiss the individual and submitted it to the University Council of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City for consideration of dismissal within its authority.

According to the School Board Office, the reason for considering the removal of Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi from his position as a school board member is due to his violation of the law.

The Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Inspection Commission announced that the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee has disciplined Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi, Party Secretary and Head of the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park, by removing him from all his Party positions.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi violated: regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do; regulations on the responsibility of setting an example for cadres and Party members, especially key leading cadres at all levels; and the Law on Marriage and Family.

On October 2nd, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City approved the policy of transferring Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi to work at the Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Research.

Also at the aforementioned school council meeting, the University of Science announced that it had completed the five-step process as directed by the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City to nominate personnel for the appointment of a vice-rector.

Accordingly, the school proposed adding two vice-principal positions with responsibilities related to student affairs, student support, and training.

At the same time, the school board also approved the repair and installation of air conditioners at campus 2 (Ho Chi Minh City National University urban area).

Currently, buildings D, E, G and the school's administrative building at campus 2 are undergoing infrastructure improvements, ensuring that 87 classrooms will be fully equipped with air conditioning before the hot season of 2025, providing optimal learning conditions for over 8,000 students each class session.
