Conference to review the draft Resolution of the Provincial People's Council

On the morning of May 28th, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province organized a social critique conference on the draft Resolution of the Provincial People's Council deciding on measures to ensure the implementation of grassroots democracy in the province.

The conference was attended by leaders of departments and agencies, and member organizations of the Fatherland Front.

The delegates attending the conference provided feedback.

At the conference, representatives from the Department of Internal Affairs (the agency in charge of drafting the resolution) presented a summary of the preparation process and the content of the draft Resolution of the Provincial People's Council deciding on measures to ensure the implementation of grassroots democracy in the province.

Accordingly, the draft Resolution has 5 articles, including: Scope of application and subjects; Principles of ensuring and objectives of implementing grassroots democracy; Measures to ensure the implementation of grassroots democracy; Funding sources and Organization of implementation.

Y Khút Niê, Chairman of the Advisory Council on Democracy, Law and Economy of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, contributed his comments to the draft Resolution.

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing, debating, and contributing suggestions to several important issues. Specifically, they considered adjusting the objectives of the five areas of grassroots democracy implementation to ensure their suitability; reviewing and increasing the financial support for grassroots democracy implementation; clarifying the responsibilities of the Fatherland Front in implementing grassroots democracy regulations, organizing training, conducting supervision, and disseminating legal information; and requesting a review of the wording and style to ensure the Resolution's content is concise, easy to understand, and easy to implement.

In his concluding remarks at the conference, the leader of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province highly appreciated the contributions and feedback received; he instructed the relevant department to compile and send the feedback and comments to the drafting agency for consideration, research, revision, and finalization of the draft Resolution before it is approved by the Provincial People's Council.
