Following on from 2023, the "Digital Transformation for Lung Health 2024" program will provide free lung disease examinations, X-rays, and CT scans for lung cancer screening to over 100,000 people. Notably, people nationwide can screen for lung diseases and lung cancer by submitting information and X-ray images to an AI platform operated by the Vietnam Young Doctors Association. It is expected that over 1 million people will receive free screening through this new technology. With AI support, if any signs of cancer are detected, medical staff will notify the individual to seek specialized medical examination. The program's goal is early detection of the disease, giving people a better chance of prevention and early treatment.

In addition, many major hospitals in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are also participating in the initiative, organizing free screenings for cardiovascular and metabolic kidney diseases…

"Non-communicable diseases are affecting younger and younger people. Through this program, people benefit more, most importantly by raising their awareness of how to protect their health. In 2023, through free lung disease screening, the program detected several early cases of cancer," Mr. Tu emphasized.

Mr. Nguyen Kim Quy, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Union, affirmed: "This is the largest volunteer medical examination journey ever undertaken by young medical professionals and doctors, demonstrating the spirit of volunteerism for social welfare. With each step of the journey, we go to experience, we go to contribute in the 'I Love My Homeland for a Healthier Vietnam' campaign."

The launch ceremony will be held on the morning of May 18th at Tran Nhan Tong pedestrian street, Hanoi. It is expected that more than 2,000 people in the city, including war veterans, families of policy beneficiaries, people in difficult circumstances, and self-employed workers, will receive medical examinations. The services will include: basic medical check-ups, blood tests, chest X-rays, ultrasounds, electrocardiograms, and screening for specific diseases.
