On the morning of January 31st, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Young Doctors Association, in collaboration with partner organizations, held the launching ceremony for the program "Healthcare for the Elderly - For a Healthy Vietnam in 2026".
The program is being implemented in the context of Vietnam officially entering the aging population phase, placing increasingly high demands on healthcare and social welfare for the elderly in a proactive, comprehensive, and sustainable manner.
This activity aims to concretize Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW dated September 9, 2025, of the Politburo on strengthening the protection, care, and improvement of people's health; and at the same time, to celebrate the success of the 14th National Congress of the Party and to provide healthcare for the elderly in the early spring of the Year of the Horse 2026.
The program brings together a team of doctors and medical professionals from many central-level hospitals and specialized institutes such as K Hospital, Bach Mai Hospital, Central Endocrinology Hospital, Central Eye Hospital, Central Traditional Medicine Hospital, National Institute of Nutrition, Central Acupuncture Hospital, Central Lung Hospital, Central Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital and Transport Hospital.
Over 1,000 elderly people in Hanoi received health check-ups, consultations, and screenings with various professional services such as blood pressure measurement, body mass index assessment, nutritional risk screening, blood tests, abdominal ultrasound, electrocardiogram, and chest X-ray as prescribed. Participants were also guided on installing remote health management applications and artificial intelligence (AI) applications to support medical monitoring and consultation.
On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Young Doctors Association, along with its partners, presented 1,000 nutritional gift packages to elderly participants in the program and 100 Tet (Lunar New Year) gifts to local elderly people, contributing to spreading the spirit of sharing and healthcare in the community.
