Huawei launches the ultra-thin foldable laptop MateBook Fold Ultimate.

Huawei has just launched its first foldable laptop, the MateBook Fold Ultimate, featuring an ultra-thin design and a high-quality display, with a starting price of 86.43 million VND.

The Huawei MateBook Fold Ultimate is the first commercially available laptop with a foldable screen. Notably, it runs on the HarmonyOS operating system designed for PCs, with its own dedicated chip.

Huawei's MateBook Fold Ultimate features an 18-inch screen inside a 13-inch body thanks to its unique folding design. This laptop runs on the HarmonyOS PC operating system and can adapt to various operating modes.

The device can open 90° and display a virtual keyboard, just like a regular laptop. It can also open completely, providing an 18-inch vertical or horizontal screen for work (with an integrated stand).

The MateBook Fold Ultimate weighs just 1.16kg and is 14.9mm thick when closed. When unfolded, the device is 7.3mm thick, and Huawei has used an ultra-thin PCB as well as a three-layer aluminum structure to make everything fit together perfectly while still ensuring the device's durability.

Additionally, the device features a vapor chamber cooling system with two ultra-thin fans to cool the chipset. Unfortunately, Huawei hasn't yet revealed the CPU specifications for this foldable laptop, but it will have 32GB of RAM and a 1TB/2TB SSD.

The display on the Huawei MateBook Fold Ultimate has a 4:3 aspect ratio when unfolded (3,296 x 2,472 pixels) and a 3:2 aspect ratio when handheld (2,472 x 1,648 pixels). It's a dual-layer LTPO OLED panel with an impressive 1,600 nits brightness and a high-frequency 1440Hz PWM dimming mode. The dual-layer structure reduces power consumption by 30% and triples the expected lifespan of the panel. It's also protected by a non-Newtonian liquid and a carbon fiber support layer.

Furthermore, Huawei has also created an ultra-thin 5mm wireless keyboard with a 1.5mm key travel for use with this laptop. It's made of aluminum alloy and weighs only 290g. The MateBook Fold Ultimate comes in three colors with different patterns on the exterior and a matching wireless keyboard.

The Huawei MateBook Fold Ultimate is equipped with a 74.69Wh battery and two USB-C ports (one on the top and one on the right). The device also features six speakers and four microphones, and supports dual-band (ax) Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.

The MateBook Fold Ultimate 32GB/1TB version is priced at 24,000 CNY (approximately 86.43 million VND), while the 32GB/2TB version costs 27,000 CNY (approximately 97.23 million VND).
